10.01.2022 Good turn out for our annual damper bake off!!

10.01.2022 We met in Bedfordale with 14 vehicles. Travelled down Albany Hwy to the powerlines and turned right. Followed a few bush tracks and camped near the Murray River. We then lit the fire so the baking could get underway! The competition was fierce and judgment was thorough. The trophy was taken out by our youngest entrant, Eden! The Dumper was awarded to the oldest entrant, Bill! Thanks to our Judges - Rhoda, Mark and Tom. The next day, half of us headed home in the morning and the rest carried on along some more tracks, getting to the Dwellingup pub at lunch time - perfect!

09.01.2022 Broke Inlet Trip - 18th-20th September We departed Byford on time with 5 vehicles and arrived at Mottram’s just before midnight, Chris , Steve & Ollie were already camped having come down earlier in the day. After a late breakfast we went down to check out the DPaW Banksia camp, then followed the track along to Cliffy Head and checked out the great views along our south coast. From there we headed into Walpole for some lunch. After lunch we headed out the forest drive to the ...large tingle tree and on to Circular Pool on the Franklin River, then back into Walpole and back to camp. Saturday night we had a great camp fire and those football fanatics amongst us listened to the Hawks destroy the Dockers premiership aspirations once again. Sunday we headed west into the Broke Inlet settlement, had a chat with some locals about the inlet and then headed to Moore’s Hut for some morning tea. From Moore’s hut we followed the track out to where it finished near the western side of the Broke Inlet mouth where we had lunch. After lunch the trip leader change a few times as we headed down some dead tracks until we found the track to Fish Creek and then onto the beach. After letting the kids run off some energy for half an hour we headed out to Chesapeake Rd and back to camp. Sunday night was another great night around the camp fire in a magnificent campsite. While the 4WDriving was not that difficult I believe a great time was had by all enjoying each other company out in our bush. See more
