24.01.2022 Today for our Parenting Program and Peer Support Group, we welcome our Nurse from Inala Health. OUR Nurse is joining us today to share information with our student mums and mums-to-be on Child Development as well as to offer tips and advice as well as answer any questions or concerns that our students may have regarding parenting and early childhood developmental milestones. As well, being our last session for the school term, we decided to celebrate with sandwiches and cakes and soda for afternoon tea

06.01.2022 A lovely afternoon tea surprise for our creche kids today was freshly baked banana bread. Our creche kids awoke from their naps to the delicious aroma of the banana bread baking in the oven. Cooking experiences are a natural way to introduce children to new foods and flavours and, as well, enhance their sensory awareness through taste, touch and smell.

05.01.2022 Today at the creche, although we are closed, some of our staff children are present. The photos below demonstrate an example of children s co-constructed inquiry and learning within a small multi-age group. The play demonstrates Lev Vygotskys Social Constructivist Theory where the learners are engaged in the learning process and learn from each other, assisting each other in the mastery of skill (referred to as Vygotskys Zone of Proximal Development), and Vygotskys theory (scaffolding learning), referring to the Iearner receiving the right amount of assistance at the right time. In this scenario, the childrens language also supports his theory, demonstrating co-constructed knowledge from their interactions with each other during their play.

To create a better space for our Parenting Program, we may need to revisit our room set up, and re-organise our furnishings to achieve our outcome, which is to provide a space for our student mums where they can relax, have privacy, and which allows for supervision of their young ones

01.01.2022 In our Parenting Program today, we partcipated in preparing the vegetables for our bubs. After, we shared a platter for afternoon tea and shared some of our mums and bubs stories
