25.01.2022 Lets say Hi......... Here at Gympie SES we are going to introduce you to some of our members. The people who go out in time on need to help you the community. The first person to kick this off will be one of our members at Rainbow Beach group. ... Let me introduce one of our youth members Mr Jarrod Hunter, who comes to SES at the ripe age of 16. I sat down with Jarrod and asked him some questions about being in the SES. Why did you join SES? Because I enjoy volunteering and helping out within the community. What do you like about SES? SES allows the groups to form a kind of second family and grow together and form strong bonds. The bonus is you can get cool skills such as drone (Remote Pilot Licence and cert III) flight management and Cert II public safety and more. What would you say to other young people wanting to join SES? SES has taught me many skills like working as a team and first aid and how to give back to the community and reinforce the world through hard times. If many people helped we can work to build a better world. So if you would like to be like Jarrod and make a difference in not just your life but your local community flick us a message.

24.01.2022 Today is Thank a First Responder Day, so from us thank you to all our members as well as the ambos, police, fire fighters. Who each and every day go above and beyond for the community. If you see a First Responder today or maybe you know one take a moment to say thanks.

22.01.2022 A heads up/ reminder for all SES members. Annual CPR CMR will be conducted on Wednesday night. Those who require this to be done, can you please endeavour to attend. Thanks GL

22.01.2022 Happy fathers day to all, we hope that you are able to have a day of relaxing with your families.

21.01.2022 People looking at trick or treating tomorrow, please check the weather warnings first. The current situation is the chance of severe distructive storms developing. Now we know from recent history that a lot of storms haven't eventuated. But that does not mean that one could. We as a community need to be prepared, clean out your gutters, secure loose items in your yard. The more you prepare now the less chance of severe damage.... If you need assistance from your local Orange hero's give us a call on 132500

15.01.2022 Yesterday members of Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach groups attended a traffic control course. Members learnt skills to successfully manage traffic to ensure safety of both the public and themselves. Sadly though during night session we were called upon to assist other emergency services at a rollover. Members showed commitment to the community by answering the call and jumping into help. We feel sorry and send our thoughts to all that were involved in the accident and wish a speedy recovery.

05.01.2022 So I am sure you have heard about the possibility of a low pressure system coming down the QLD coast. What does this mean? If it does eventuate we are in for some wet weather over the weekend.... There is NO indication of flooding so Gympie no need to panic. But it is a good time to make sure your house is ready for storm season. The biggest request we get when we get severe rain is rain coming through the roof. We find that a lot of the time it is due to blocked gutters, so ask yourself "are your gutters clean?"
