23.01.2022 The Chandler Arena (at Sleeman Sports Complex) has recorded a confirmed case of COVID-19. The patron attended Chandler Arena on Sunday 26 July and it is underst...ood that access was limited to the Arena and Car Park 2. Venue staff are working with health officials and following all necessary protocols to provide contact information for anyone who was at the venue, who will then be contacted directly by Queensland Health. While transmission to anyone outside Chandler Arena is unlikely, anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 is encouraged to get tested. As we know, this situation can change rapidly and we will continue to update and act in accordance with the advice and directives. If anything affects the ability for upcoming meets to proceed, we will inform all members immediately.

23.01.2022 Swimming Queensland wishes to advise that LC Preparation meet #1 which was set down for 10 and 11 October has been cancelled. The factors taken into account in... reaching this decision are: - Normally the Qld Short Course Championships are run in early August. Due to COVID, they were rescheduled to late September. - SQ LC Preparation #1 was scheduled to be 8 weeks after the Qld SC Championships normal date to assist coaches and athletes with their preparation for the December Qld Championships. - The meet was left in the calendar until now in case there were further COVID lockdowns imposed preventing the SC Championships taking place. Clubs and Regions will continue to conduct meets throughout October and November to prepare for the LC season.

Recent advice from Queensland Health, which resulted in some unfortunate last... minute changes to the Brisbane SC Championships, has also resulted in the need to revise the plan for the upcoming 2020 McDonalds Queensland SC Championships. For those who attended the Brisbane SC Championships event as a spectator, wed like to thank you for being adaptable and understanding of the restraints we were working within. This allowed us to manage spectator ticketing in a way that enabled things to proceed as opposed to having to make a difficult decision to cancel all spectator tickets last minute. This meet provides a quality racing opportunity for swimmers leading up to the QLD Short Course Championships in September, plus opportunities to qualify for those Championships. Min. age is 10 yrs (age calculated at 25 September 2020). 03.01.2022 There have been some emergent changes communicated by the Queensland Government as at 8:00am Saturday, 22 August 2020 with some resultant measures implemented i...n the following areas: - Brisbane - Ipswich - Logan - Scenic rim - Lockyer Valley - Moreton Bay - Redlands Swimming Queensland are aware of these changes and the relevant directives. We will continue to monitor the situation, however as at today there are no directives that affect the upcoming meets or development activities proceeding in accordance with the Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan. From 8:00am, 22 August, any business or organisation, including community sporting activities and events, operating in accordance with their relevant Industry COVID Safe Plan, are safe to proceed, ensuring the plan is enacted. This means all attendees playing their part in adhering to the physical distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures in place. For social gatherings either within homes or public spaces, these are restricted to a maximum group size of 10 people. Outside of this, where possible, members of the general public should limit outings and have a quiet weekend at home. If you are experiencing any COVID or flu-like symptoms at all, it is important you get tested immediately. Once again, a great reminder of the shared responsibility we have in keeping ourselves, our loved ones and the greater community safe in following all measures in place and in particular physical distancing and personal hygiene.
