24.01.2022 Fridays are for fancy features....not commonly used anymore this workshop/ultimate man cave project is incorporating 3 arches to match the Mediterranean style house on the property. A fiddly feature that requires each brick to be cut to exacting angles to get the right curve. The outside of the building is to have a bagged broom finish however the inside is being left so this stunning red brick & white mud combination will add a unique feature wall to the interior. 23.01.2022 A recent job finished replacing an old failed timber wall. Completed from start to finish by Southside Bricklaying from design to site works, foundations and brickwork. 35 meter long retaining wall with built in garden beds. No more water run off issues from the neighbouring property. Double skin, 100ml cavity, concrete core filled, concrete and steel reinforced. Broom bagged finish ready for painting. 21.01.2022 Todays worksite location was a beautiful Broadbeach Waters canal property. The owner is completing renovations and wanted to increase privacy and security. Extra height added to existing side brick fence, to be rendered. Two additional block walls adding right down to the canal...raked block walls, to be rendered. A tight site with limited access and beautifully manicured gardens & lawns so it was important to take additional care. All done in one day

12.01.2022 Impressive workshop & man cave ready for the next stage of the build. The exterior brick work will be finished in a broom bagged finish & painted. Some of the red brick work will be left exposed on the inside of the building to give character. The arches add a touch of class and difference to the exterior look. Just under 300 square meters of floor space, 12000 bricks to be finished with a broom bag finish outside, the interior includes feature walls of red brick with white mud...scaffold up to brick up to height tomorrow...progress pictures to be continued!

09.01.2022 Owners of this Tamborine property finishing off their front entry & carport to match their entertaining area brickwork we completed in 2018. Replacing a 20m long old failing timber retaining wall, with a double brick cavity wall, concrete and steel reinforced, adding piers around a pre fabricated carport and bringing structure & sophistication with built in feature garden beds. 07.01.2022 Heres why we are not just another Bricklaying company...our design & craftsmanship is second to none! This 20 year old front fence needed to be raised from 4 foot to 6 foot so the owner could keep their dog in. The existing curved brick entry has had a terracotta bonded soldier course band with a corbel top with brick on edge capping, feature tops to piers. Just needing an acid wash and high pressure clean. We specialise in building quality and unique front entries.

03.01.2022 In England one sometimes encounters these "wavy" brick fences. And curious as it may seem, this shape uses FEWER bricks than a straight fence. Thats because a straight fence that is just one brick thick is not sturdy enough to stand alone and can be easily toppled with a determined push. For that reason straight fences always have a thickness of at least two layers of bricks and often more, and are also reinforced at regular intervals with vertical posts serving as buttresses. But a wavy "one-brick" fence stands just fine on its own due to the arch support provided by its shape, which combines both fence and buttress.
