21.01.2022 During Christmas a couple of the congregations that came into Southside UC supported the Everything in Common Campaign from UnitingWorld. This great video below highlights something of what this campaign is about and how we can share that with our family and friends. 16.01.2022 Hi folks. Tomorrow we begin Advent. A new Christian year dawns. In worship, Bible study, prayer and other ways, our theme will be HOPE. These thoughts and prayer came through this morning from the Iona Community. So apt. I invite you and your household to pray the prayer. Blessings ADVENT HOPE... So friends, as we turn the corner into advent and 2021, we begin to bid farewell to 2020. This is a year that has tested many beyond reasonable limits, has exposed injustice beyond measure, and has revealed resilience so far untapped. As we tenderly stand alongside each other in grief and sorrow, let us also carry this resilience and hope into the new year. We hold in God’s light all across the world who yearn for deep peace and unity. We hold in God’s light all who live with anxiety, fear, dread or despair across our globe. We hold in God’s light this one fragile planet which we inhabit. We pray for justice for the poor and the persecuted. And we pray that the Jesus may remind us and remind us, and remind us that our task is to be God’s hands and hearts on this earth. Amen

11.01.2022 Greetings Southside. Our Advent theme is HOPE. Each Sunday a new aspect of Hope will be unpacked across our services. The national UCA Assembly’s‘ Transforming Worship Circle (of which I’m part) has gathered singers online to each week sing a new verse of Rev Michael Earl’s advent song: Tell Me a Story of Hope.
