19.01.2022 Please remember to register your burn pile, so that you don't get some unexpected guests (although we do LOVE a good bonfire ). Remember to check with Rural City of Wangaratta if you are able to have a fire on your property and that you comply with these steps...... You have water on hand, cleared around the pile to reduce fire spread, that there is little to no wind and that an adult is in attendance at all times (more tips attached).

14.01.2022 Our resident family are protecting their eggs in a very shallow nest. Please be careful if visiting or passing by.

12.01.2022 Keeping your gutters clean is important for at least 2 reasons; Reason 1 - Dry leaf litter and other things that collect in our gutters can catch on fire through direct flame or ember attack. Reason 2 - During heavy rains the gutters can become blocked and overflow causing damage to your house. Please be careful using ladders when doing this, cleaning your gutters can be a high risk activity.

09.01.2022 One of the perks of returning to our station after being paged to an early morning event.

07.01.2022 Do you have stored hay on your property this year? Please ensure you monitor your hay stacks for heat, unusual smells or slumping. These are indicators that the hay could catch fire. If you find any of these indicators carefully pull the stack apart. Please have ample water on site and DON'T climb onto the stack to avoid additional risks. If you're hay catches fire ring 000 (triple zero).
