24.01.2022 Over the next few days the temperature is starting to rise, and summer is fast approaching. In this heat, it will take only minutes for your beloved dog to possibly die or suffer from serious health issues as a result of being left in a hot car. The inside temperature of your car is a lot higher than you think!

22.01.2022 Yesterday the Warrandyte Fire Brigade and FRV station 84 (South Warrandyte CFA) responded to reports of a two car motor vehicle collision. Firefighters promptl...y secured the scene and tended to both drivers, who were out of their vehicles with minor injuries. Working alongside Manningham council, who provided use of their street sweeper, everyone worked together and completed a lengthy clean up of oil and debris from the road. 15.01.2022 Our boys and girls have started their summer training, albeit with some different twists. But rest assured, they will all be trained and ready for the fire season ahead.

15.01.2022 Feeling sad for our colleagues tonight. Sincere condolences to the families.

15.01.2022 Even in lockdown our members continue to respond and support our neighbouring brigades and other emergency services.

14.01.2022 We have had and still have members performing on strike teams all over the state and country. One of our members was on this strike team- but has since returned. We are proud and thankful that our brigade, like many others, can assist these townships when they need us the most. Its going to be a long, hot summer, so everyone please stay safe and follow your written fire plan.

13.01.2022 Today is a historical date for Victoria's Fire Services. The State of Victoria will see an amalgamation of all Officers, Firefighters and employees of the MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) and all Career Officers, Firefighters and some other paid employees of the CFA (Country Fire Authority). The new organisation will be known as Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV). All current CFA Volunteers will remain with the CFA, which will revert to being a volunteer fire service.... Regardless whether we are paid or unpaid, volunteer or career, CFA or FRV, the service to the community is our highest priority and we will continue to provide the community with the service you have grown to know and rely on in your time of need. Whether that be a response to a house fire, bush fire, motor vehicle accident, hazardous materials incident or an Emergency Medical Response alongside Ambulance Victoria, the firefighters at South Warrandyte CFA will be here for the community when called upon. 05.01.2022 Today CFA brigades were called to a number of out-of-control burn-offs If you're using the great weather to clean-up your property for fire season, make sure ...you conduct your burn-off safely. A burn-off, if not extinguished properly can re-ignite days after the original burn. Keep your burn-off safe and legal: Check fire restrictions with your local council and register your burn on 1800 668 511 Check and monitor weather conditions particularly wind To avoid unnecessary calls to emergency services, notify your neighbours beforehand Leave a three metre fire break, free from flammable materials around the burn Have sufficient equipment and water to stop the fire spreading Never leave a burn-off unattended stay for its entire duration If your burn-off gets out of control, call ‘000’ immediately
