01.01.2022 SOME GOOD NEWS WA Police Force Licensing Services (Firearms) (LSF) are currently reinstating all applications that have been declined as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Refunds have been transacted and you will receive yours soon (if not already received). A process is currently under development which will afford those persons, who were declined, the opportunity to have their application reassessed should they wish to do so (applications that are reassessed will ...be subject to the normal application process). The Closure of Gun Shops (No2) Direction (dated 28 March 2020) has not been rescinded. Currently only applications from persons who fall into the following categories will be considered: A Primary Producer; A Vermin Eradication Professional; or An Aboriginal person who is entitled to exercise a native title right to hunt over particular land and waters. LSF are unable to provide a timeframe as to when the Closure of Gun Shops (No2) Direction will be rescinded. This is a decision for the Emergency Management Coordinator. Do not contact LSF, those persons effected will be contacted by LSF to discuss their options. Do not attend Australia Post to resubmit your application. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. See more
