24.01.2022 BUSSELTON ASSAULT INCIDENT Busselton Detectives are seeking information regarding an incident in Busselton last night which left a man seriously injured. The incident took place last night about 6:20pm near the intersection of Albert Street and Queen Street.... It is believed several people were involved in the physical altercation. A man aged in his 30s was taken into custody this morning and he is assisting in the investigation. 23.01.2022 MEN CHARGED OVER 12KG DRUG HAUL FOR BUNBURY Two men have been charged over a 12kg meth haul after drugs were allegedly found concealed in consignments of shoe racks and shelving sent from Malaysia. Police say six kilograms of drugs were allegedly contained in three packages detected by Australian Border Force officers, two of which were at Perth air cargo depots and destined for addresses in Bunbury and Perth.

20.01.2022 BAIL GRANTED FOR BUSSELTON BASH ACCUSED A 33-year-old father accused of attacking a man outside a Busselton bar has been granted bail while his alleged victim fights for his life with severe brain injuries in hospital. The court was told the alleged victim hit Mr Pell in the head before the accused punched the 41-year-old back three times in the head, with the third strike being a roundhouse-type punch to the left of the victim’s jaw.

20.01.2022 COUNCIL PULLS OUT OF CAMP LIFELINE The Harvey Shire Council has pulled out of a last-minute lifeline that could have kept Camp Mornington afloat. The PCYC put the youth adventure camp, which is 15km from Harvey, up for sale in July. The organisation blamed COVID-19 for relinquishing the site.... An urgent bid to save the camp was slammed by several councillors who queried why they should fork out ratepayers’ money on something that was outside of the planned budget.

South West safety campaigners celebrated their big win on Friday afternoon when Transport Minister Rita Saffioti announced the speed limit on the stretch between Hynes Road and Giorgi Road in Picton East would be lowered from 100km/h to 80km/h. ... 05.01.2022 ACCOMMODATION SHORTAGE FORCES MOTHER TO SLEEP ON BEACH The mother of an alleged child sexual abuse victim was forced to sleep on the beach this week with her teenage daughter because of a shortage of emergency accommodation. The woman who cannot be named for legal reasons, had sought help from the Department of Communities but was told there was no emergency accommodation available in the South West area where she is living.... She and her daughter, who is in her late teens, spent Wednesday night camping on the beach.

02.01.2022 DONNYBROOK MAN JAILED FOR HIGH-SPEED CHASE ON METH A Donnybrook man who led police on a high-speed chase while under the influence of methamphetamine has been handed jail time, with the magistrate slamming him for putting police, road users and residents at risk. The officers in pursuit had to drive 100km/h in a 50km/h zone and 140km/h in an 80km/h zone to keep up with him.... You placed other road users at risk ... you could have lost control of the vehicle and smashed into residential houses."
