18.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE !!! Dolphin Festival Day 17th October 2020 8am-3pm... Bring your whole family down to Dolphin Discovery Centre in Koombana Bay. There will be plenty of entertainment through the day. The lovely staff will be offering pancake breakfast, kids activity tent, rescue native animals, kite flying, fishing clinic, entertainers, trash and treasure stall and heaps more. Also come say a huge shello to Mermaid Oshy and Nixie, as we will be playing in the bay from 11am - 1pm.

13.01.2022 Mermaid season has reopened!!!!! Mermaid Nixie is back in the Southwest hiding under the #busseltonjettyofficial ssssshhhhhh. The coral under here is amazing and the sea life is outstanding Sometimes we forget how incredibly our own playground is. 08.01.2022 After a big storm please keep an eye out on our beaches for stranded marine turtle hatchlings. These wee guys are on their journey around the world and are following the warmer waters, known as the Leeuwin Current. Most marine turtles are unable to regulate their body temperature, so in colder water their metabolism shuts down. Most become part of the food chain but some get washed a shore. When this happens it can lead them to becoming cold, dehydrated, starving and near death on our beaches. If you happen to find one PLEASE DO NOT place them back into the water, as it can be severely ill. Instead either wrap the turtle up in a towel or place into a contain and contact either @dolphindiscoverycentre , Aqua or DBCA Wildcare asap

To think we in Australia have pristine beaches is a total surprise when you find beaches that are covered in #plastic #thongs #glowsticks #bottlelids #waterbottles #fishinggear #microplastics #pollution #straws #lighter #toothbrushes #ropes . Its really heart breaking to think what all of us humans are doing to the marine life and the ocean its self.
