25.01.2022 CLEAN UP: An enthusiastic group of residents gathered on Saturday, World Environment Day, to help clean up our area. Forest Lake Ward Councillor, Charles Strunk, said it was his fifth clean up day, as local councillor, and he was always inspired by the efforts of residents. Cr Strunk said it had also been a great opportunity to meet founder of Devicentrix, Alfred, who has started a litter pick up program that will see volunteers upskilled and receive remuneration for their ef...forts. Im looking for volunteers from school age to adults that want to give back to the community,'' Alfred said. Im calling on the Lord Mayor to act with urgency by preserving land and allocating funds to give koalas safe homes to prevent (extnction) from occurring in Qld, Forest Lake Ward Councillor Charles Strunk said. He said that, partly as a result of last year's bushfires, it had been estimated koalas would become extinct in NSW by 2050. Forest Lake Ward Councillor, Charles Strunk, said it was part of $6.7 million in funding commitments in the Brisbane City Council Budget. He thanked residents for their feedback on Castamore Way Park and Eugenia Street Park (Richlands), Mulgrave Street Park and St Andrews Park (Forest Lake) and Peacock Street Park (Doolandella).
