14.01.2022 Shared from SAFE Busselton, what a great idea PLEASE JOIN IN THE FUN AND SUPPORT FUN WHILE FUNDRAISING FOR SAFE SAFE branches are having to cancel fundraising events due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, but the animals will still need our help and we need you to support us.... We are running the event from 21st March until 4th April, where for a donation of $20 and supplying us a photo of your pet, one of our volunteer artists will recreate a drawing of that photo which will then be supplied to you in digital format. The fun is you just won't know what type of artist you will get. It could be a child, cartoonist, digital, amateur or professional artist. One lucky participant will receive a canvas print painted exclusively for you by Groovy Art. How cool is that! Please support us by registering your interest on the event page (link in comments) and helping us spread the word by sharing this post. This is a SAFE way to raise funds, for all to stay SAFE and healthy and hopefully put some fun posts on social media, in these hard times. We really appreciate your support!

11.01.2022 Enjoying the beautiful weather, finally got the rain coat and boots off. Alfie here loves his bath whatever the weather

10.01.2022 It's been a hot start to the summer, and we've already seen in the news, stories about dogs being left in cars etc. We've seen the advice being shared of being careful with exercising, playing, short nosed breeds, older dogs, young dogs, fat dogs and all the rest. I want to share with you a couple of cases that really stick in my mind from working in clinic. These cases were really sad, and both ended with the dogs losing their lives and the owners left with terrib...le guilt over something that they never thought of *** Some readers may find these stories distressing**** 1)Places they can accidently get TRAPPED....so you've done all the right things, access to inside and outside, lots of water bowls placed around(that can't be spilt) etc. But have you checked your shed doors/inside doors etc. The dog in this case had the perfect set up at home for a hot day while the owner was out for around 5 hours. Sadly, she had gone into the bedroom and knocked the door so it closed behind her. She was then stuck in the bedroom, no water, distressed, and unable to get to a cooler spot (curtains open and full sun coming in) When the owner returned she found her laying down, hypersalivating and unable to move. The dog could not be saved after days of intensive treatment. 2)COLLARS/TAGS: If you have decking or fencing with small gaps etc please ensure your dogs accessories can't get hooked and stuck in them. In this case, the dog was laying on the decking and the tag got stuck in the decking, rendering the dog unable to get up and move. The owner returned home the dog was unconscious and could not be saved. These are just 2 of many cases I have been unfortunate enough to have been a part of. So on top of all our usual advice, check the little things like the above also https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3945297202163254&id=477898585569817

10.01.2022 So it's reading as 35degrees at 4:30pm at my home, I've recently redone my outside area....the air con is on for her inside.... She would still rather be outside, making a mess and digging herself holes to sleep in Whatever makes her happy

07.01.2022 you don't need coffee when these two are your first job of the morning. Daisy and Rigsby, sitting patiently and looking like the angels that they are (when they want to be )

07.01.2022 Crikey.... going through some old stuff while I'm back in the UK. These pics are from my first job as dog groomer and then the beginning of my Veterinary Nurse career 23 years ago

06.01.2022 This is how I feel about your dogs while I'm on my holidays Look forward to seeing all my pups on my return at the end of September

05.01.2022 Big big THANK YOU to Chalky and the team for rescuing me this arvo. Not only did I lock my Keys in the van.....they were in the back of the van, which meant getting into the front of the van, removing an inside window and bar, and the poor guy then had to squeeze through the gap, into the dog bath and then reach down and get the keys so we could unlock the back door. Absolute life savers today. Also a big thank you to Annie's mum who let me use her phone and hang out with her while we waited. She didn't have much choice as I'd also blocked her car in. So note to self.....make sure the thing in your back pocket is your keys and not dog biccies

04.01.2022 King Rocco......the look of pure pleasure

02.01.2022 Miss Annie loves having her ear cleans, she decided to take full advantage and roll over for a real relaxing time, first time I've done an upside down ear clean. We don't my see many of these beautiful breeds around town
