23.01.2022 To all Members, Players and Supporters of our amazing South Whyalla FC, on behalf of the Management Committee, it gives me great pleasure to announce our senior coaches for the 2021 WFL season. Jeremy "Jezza" Edwards (League), Sam Frick (Reserves) and Scott Leverington (Thirds) have all received unanimous support to continue what we were after in 2020 until C19 interrupted us. Let's all get behind these very dedicated guys and get the South Whyalla Demons to where we belong. Season 2021 starts now! Planning starts now! 20.01.2022 We are pleased to offer for auction this framed Guernsey set showing both back and front of our heritage Guernsey which lists all Life Members for the first 100 years. We produced only two of these sets and the other one hangs proudly at the Club. Bidding will start at $500. Bids will be received up to 12noon on Friday 11th December and must be sent privately to Sue Armes by email to [email protected] or text message to 0477 991 956. 16.01.2022 To all Members and Supporters of South Whyalla Football Club, I have pleasure in announcing that Jason Hannan has been appointed to the role of Football Manager of our Club, assuming responsibilty for the oversight of football operations and the strategic future of our football department. Congratulations and thank you mate. Jason is already building a strong support team around him and will have a solid Football Committee to work with. It's great that Jason has stepped forwa...rd and this builds on the other recent exciting announcements being the re-appointment of our senior coaches Jeremy Edwards (League), Sam Frick (Reserves) and Scott Leverington (Thirds), as well as Peter Rolfe as our Senior Fitness Coach. One of our Life Members Bob Darling on behalf of his wife Marilyn who passed away this year has generously donated this framed heritage #1 Guernsey to the Club. We have decided to sell lucky squares for $5 each which is a bargain for someone to win this piece of Club history and would make a great Chrissy present. Second prize will be a carton of beer. 05.01.2022 Hi everyone. Each year a gathering of South Whyalla friends come together at Morpheytville Racecourse on Victoria Day to enjoy a social day and catch up with old friends. Always a good turnout. So save the date..Saturday 31st October! Whilst this is usually at Morphettville, as you know there are currently COVID-19 Restrictions around "vertical" drinking inside (sometimes solved by the end of the day ). We may have to seek an alternate place such as The Robin Hood Hotel in Norwood on Portrush Road or The Highway Inn on Anzac Highway where we can be in a beer garden. Happy to take feedback.
