25.01.2022 Our first sugar snap pea pod is forming!! These were sown quite late on the 10th May when we moved into our new place. Looking forward to eating these when they're ready.

24.01.2022 What a great initiative!

24.01.2022 We've been trying different ways to keep the slugs and earwigs at bay. Vegetable oil and soy sauce in a small container seem to be getting a few. But we didn't expect to find this little guy having a go at the Broad beans this morning.

23.01.2022 Harvesting your own crops is definitely one of the best parts of growing your own food. This is today's little harvest for tonight's dinner, from our rental property backyard.

21.01.2022 Getting the cyprus posts in for a grapevine trellis at a job in Melton today. This is going to look great with their already established green vines growing over it.

21.01.2022 Our Romanesco broccoli is coming along nicely. If you haven't seen them before, they're an edible flower bud of the species Brassica oleracea.

19.01.2022 This weekend's job: sort out the compost.

19.01.2022 Wow, there's so much more variety of edible plants than what we're used to seeing in the supermarket.

16.01.2022 We're first timers to brewing our own Kombucha today. Bought the kit from The Good Brew Company which made it super easy (so far). Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

14.01.2022 Ladybirds to the rescue! This yellow beauty cleaning up powdery mildew is the fungus-eating ladybird. The orange legend is the more commonly known aphid eating spotted ladybird with their larvae down the bottom.

13.01.2022 Check out our raised cypress garden beds built from ethically sourced cypress macrocarpa timber. Milled from windbreak trees across Victoria. They are also durable, termite resistant and look great. Perfect for Summer veggie beds! www.sowtogrow.com.au/raised-garden-beds

11.01.2022 Happy New Year. Hope everyone is enjoying their New Years Eve wherever they are. Ours is definitely very low key. But lucky enough to be able to wander around the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and Melbourne CBD before dinner and an early night at home with the doggo. Here's to a happy 2021!

09.01.2022 A wicking bed made from a recycled IBC (intermediary bulk container) is an easy way to get growing. Especially if you're in a rental property and you want something temporary. This is ours today, and one month ago when we set it up. Think a salad will be on the menu tonight!

09.01.2022 A green manure crop is a great way to recondition your soil. We've just planted one for a client. It's when crops (like the ones pictured) are grown specifically to be dug back into the soil to add much needed nutrients back into your garden beds.

07.01.2022 Finished Grapevine trellis with arbor, in an edible backyard in Melton. Clients are happy with the result, and so are we.

06.01.2022 Enjoying the stunning day by planting out leafy green seedlings in a new wicking bed, made out of a reused IBC. Bring on Spring!

06.01.2022 What else is there to do on a sunny day during lockdown but get out in the garden?

05.01.2022 The veggies are definitely enjoying this sunshine! We planted these cucumbers quite late but we're already seeing the results.

05.01.2022 Just discovered Cranbourne Botanic Gardens today. What an amazing Gardens! All Australian natives. Just stunning.

05.01.2022 Interesting article about access to food, especially during Coronavirus. Discussing how food grown on Melbourne’s fringes has helped us weather the coronavirus pandemic with supplies of fresh, locally grown produce relatively unaffected by the crisis.

03.01.2022 What an awesome idea.

02.01.2022 Quick visit for some inspiration to Antique Perennials Nursery and garden. Definitely recommend for anyone who's a lover of perennials.

01.01.2022 Visited Alowyn Gardens & Nursery in Yarra Glen today for some design inspo. Beautiful.
