22.01.2022 #6 of 20 My oh my look at the time I promised the entire internet to do 20 FB posts featuring flashback photos of the last 20 years of Flamenco Fire production...s by way of celebrating our upcoming premier of Veinte Años at QPAC on 26th Sept 2019 - and I’m only up to No. 6!?! I need stage management!! Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

20.01.2022 #4 of 20 Bam! Zap! KaPow! The Dynamic Duo of Flamenco are returning to Australia - Holy Llamada Batman, you don’t mean the brilliantly talented, extravagantly ...generous and immensely creative dancer Francesca ‘La Chica’ and percussionist Andrej Vujicic? Yes my little undies-on-the-outside wearing friend. That is precisely who I mean Yes folks it’s true. Our globe trotting superstar friends Chica and Andrej will be packing their bags and leaving their home in beautiful Sevilla to join us on stage to celebrate Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary. This is their one and only appearance in Australia this time round. Should be pretty good I recon. Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. 17.01.2022 #9 of 20 The Team Behind The Scenes Of course it’s fun playing and dancing up a storm on the stage with Flamenco Fire. But it is serious work. Done by serious p...eople. And nothing encapsulates this more than the dedicated, deliberate and highly focused attitude that the team behind the scenes bring to our endeavours. This lot are the real deal. There are no stage invasions mid sound check to show the flamenco dancers how it’s done; no sneaky fishing trips; no dress ups in outback pubs; and our producer is absolutely, definitely, categorically not a card carrying and fully certified pirate. That would be silly. Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

17.01.2022 #7 of 20 - Darn flamenco dancers! Always wrecking a potentially great photo of a guitarist. Of all the flamenco dancers I know Simone Pope has wrecked the most.... If you’d like to see Simone in action (i.e. obscuring guitarists from adoring photographers) come along to the premiere of our new show Veinte Años at QPAC on the 26th Sept. I guarantee she’ll be at it again Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

15.01.2022 #11 of 20 Pretty posters posted presenting past('n pending) productions. Presumed primary purpose? Personal perusal! Only 4 sleeps till showtime!! Thursday 26t...h September. 13.01.2022 As mentioned previously, in the interest of celebrating 20 years of Flamenco Fire concerts and tours I thought I might share some happy snaps of our adventures ...- big and small. #2 of 20: SIGNS OF THE TIMES. The challenge? Communicate as much as possible as efficiently as possible. Whether it be giant, fancy, full colour jobs or more modest (and wildly inaccurate) chalk boards or grammatically creative interpretations of the name, we’ve always loved the energy and enthusiasm that presenters have shown in Flamenco Fire signage over the years. Promotional signage aside I’ve particularly enjoyed the wonder(how big the place is), amusement(some of our language means something quite different in other languages), confusion(you'll know the ones I mean!?!) and fear(crocs etc.) that some of our helpful public signage has managed to impart to those of the group on tour who have English as their second or third language. - Brisbane Festival, Red Chair and Queensland Performing Arts Centre present: Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall. Apart from appearances by some our nearest, dearest and most fabulous flamenco friends from Spain and around Australia, this concert will feature Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra (all 18 of them!!!!). The links below will take you to the same box office - just thought you might like to browse through a feast of different programmes on the way. https://www.brisbanefestival.com.au/whats-on/flamenco-fire https://redchair.com.au//eve/454-flamenco-fire-veinte-anos https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

07.01.2022 #5 of 20 Kieren Ray. They seek him here, they seek him there; his greatest trick is convincing the world he doesn’t exist.; there can be only ONE Given the ...Scarlet Pimpernel, Keyser Söze and Connor MacLeod from the Clan Macleod don’t play the guitar I must obviously be referring to the great skivvy collecting, craft beer drinking and AFL obsessed (i.e. Melbourne based) flamenco guitarist Kieren Ray. That’s right folks he doesn’t have a website, he doesn’t have a Facebook account and you certainly won’t see him on Twitter, Instagram, Spotify or Tinder. He is proper old school. BUT, if you’ve seen an Australian produced flamenco show anywhere in Australia over the past fifteen years or so you’ve most probably seen and heard him playing alongside your local heroes. He’s sorta like the free-range-organic-vegan-hipster-rennet that holds Australian flamenco together.sorta. Guitarists envy him for the strength of his rasgueados and dancers swoon for his dedication to flamenco accompaniment. Brilliant composer, arranger and all round excellent fella, he has been in many Flamenco Fire productions over the years and we’re all very very excited about him being a part of Veinte Años. 05.01.2022 #3 of 20 Mira Mira on the floor happy snaps of Fernando in past Flamenco Fire productions - and as poster boy for Strictly Ballroom in London We were incredib...ly excited when we found out that our super star friend Fernando Mira had a gap in his international jet setting, West End stage stomping and A-List hobnobbing schedule as Rico in Baz Luhrmann’s stage production of Strictly Ballroom and was going to be available to be a part of our anniversary show. Over the years he has premiered Flamenco Fire shows with us at The Brisbane Powerhouse, The Judith Wright Centre and QPAC Playhouse as well as touring here, there and everywhere. This. Is. Going. To. Be. Good! Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

04.01.2022 #8 of 20 He has sung the roof off hundreds of concert halls throughout the world (almost literally - and that’s before the PA is even turned on). He has trave...lled on more Flamenco Fire tour buses on more Australian country roads and highways than is advisable for anyone’s body, mind or smoking habit. And over the years he has found more quality garments in more op shops and in more towns than every hipster in North Fitzroy combined. In a world where there is never enough reverb and way too much tofu Olayo Jimenez is a flamenco singer par excellence..and he will be on stage with us on the 26th September at QPAC to celebrate 20 years of Flamenco Fire. Flamenco Fire’s 20th anniversary - Veinte Años. One show only. September 26th QPAC Concert Hall https://www.qpac.com.au/event/bf_flamenco_fire_19/

02.01.2022 #10 of 20 Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra and Flamenco Fire join forces. Oh my Lordy Lord how lucky are we!! We get to do a flamenco show in one of th...e grandest halls in the land AND keep company with some truly fine musicians (who will be playing some stunning string arrangements by the brilliant Michael Patterson). Here’s a tiny sneak peak from the rehearsal room. Thursday 26th Sept in the Concert Hall at QPAC. Not that many seats left. Shaping up to be a very special night!?! 02.01.2022 It was a real treat having Michael Fix, Minnie Marks and Luca Stricagnoli take some time out from their busy performance schedule on the 2019 Acoustic Guitar Sp...ectacular Qld. tour and share their incredible chops and musicality with us in the Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra. Incredibly insightful and inspiring!!! A great workshop followed by a brilliant concert. Thanks guys!!!!! See more
