24.01.2022 Springwood is a 2000 lot greenfield community in Gawler East linked to the historic main street of Gawler, the Barossa Valley wine region and historic cycle trails, while being connected to Adelaide through the Gawler Bypass which runs through the site. Spark worked with Tract to resolve the design of the custom shade structure. Our Focus seat and picnic setting, as well as our standard bin enclosure were used to complement the shade structure. 23.01.2022 A new sign designed by Land Projects is the finishing touch of the newly opened Curlew Community park. The challenge of creating this sign is the great number of incredibly tight curves. Our in-house design team collaborated closely with our fabricators ensuring the shapes could be rolled, cut and fabricated pushing manufacturing capabilities to the limit ensuring design intent was kept intact. Today, the line forms the basis of the unique Coast to Vines Rail Trail a 37km pathway to discovery. 21.01.2022 A design inspired by the shifting patterns of the South Australian landscape, the aim of the Rundle Mall revitalisation was to open up the area creating more space for the public and to redefine its character and its use. Spark worked in conjunction with @hassell_studio to manufacture their designs for the mall furniture, including the huge decks located at each end which form a gathering place. A combination of elements including granite, Australian hardwood timbers, and stainless steel create the form and function of the pieces which are works of art in their own right. #celebrateSA #rundlemall #loveSA
21.01.2022 Our Parklet is designed to provide a vibrant, new pedestrian space for people to meet, gather, eat and drink, or sit and relax. The semi-permanent structure, installed in the footprint of parallel car parks, can easily be relocated to a new home as required. 20.01.2022 The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is Australias most advanced hospital and South Australias single largest infrastructure project. A number of areas, both outside the building and in its many internal courtyards, required gates and fencing with combinations of different materials and finishes installed along varying ground levels. To uphold the integrity of the designers vision (Tract Consultants) considerable time was spent ahead of production, devising ways of attaching panels of different materials to the fence posts. It was important that on-site manufacturing be kept to an absolute minimum, so careful thought went into fabricating the fence components in such a way that only assembly was required onsite, with all manufacturing completed in the factory. #custom #manufacturing #bespoke #gates #materials #RAH #Adelaide #hospital

20.01.2022 Cobbler Creek Recreation Park recently received a major upgrade with the installation of a Pumptrack, playground, bbq facilities and toilets. @trailscapes team was chosen to design and construct a first in South Australia; a slopestyle course incorporating structures such as steel and wooden kickers, the whale tail jump and a wall-ride. The structures were designed by TrailScapes’ Director Garry Patterson with the help of landscape architecture firm @birdseyestudiosaustralia , then manufactured by Spark Furniture. As we are all spending the next few days inside we want to showcase some of our favourite South Australian projects we have delivered over the years. Designed by @tcl_studio to be a focal point of the Henley Square Redevelopment project, the Ripple Lounge posed considerable challenges on more than one front. The lounge is a 30 metre long continuous structur...e integrated with an extended jetty walkway and exposed to intense salt, sand and sun. SPARK’s industrial design team devised an intricate stainless steel structure to hold the 4 1/2 kilometres of timber battens that make up the undulating seats. The custom shade structures are designed by Redbox Design Group for ACT Government and incorporate a playful bubbles pattern. The structures will be installed in the coming weeks by Kane Constructions. Spark is actively taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19. 07.01.2022 Urbis worked in collaboration with Brisbane City Council and Stockland to deliver the Pallara disctrict park from concept design, through detail design and construction. The park is a true, feel-good story, having turned an site seemingly incapable of development into a fantastic new facility for a growing community. The site was an existing Brisbane City Council, contaminated landfill site, which required a strategic and considered design methodology, as well as rigorous site testing and preparation. 06.01.2022 The Royal Adelaide Hospital sets a new benchmark for the delivery of healthcare in Adelaide and across Australia. Tract Consultants designed 1.6 hectares of open space within the hospital incorporating 75 internal courtyards, sky gardens and balconies creating a "park" providing areas for respite, refreshment, physical therapy, quite contemplation and lively places for patients, staff and visitors of the hospital. Spark worked closely with Tract on the internal and external ...furniture, gates, planters and gates. This week we will showcase these elements in detail. The Aboriginal Health Garden Fence is designed by two Aboriginal artists from the Kaurna and Ramindjeri groups. The fence is comprised of 72 unique Coreten panels curving along 81 metres of gabion wall. Located at the very front of the building, it is the first and largest work of art that one encounters at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. 04.01.2022 Calvary Adelaide Hospital, with its state-of-the-art facilities, is now the largest private hospital in South Australia. Architecturally designed by STH, the development focuses on maximising the patient experience. The buildings external courtyards and entrances were designed by Birdseye Studios to provide an outdoor escape and rehabilitation for patients, and a place to relax and recover for visitors and staff. Spark Furniture led manufacturing design for all of the elements including shelters, planters, and furniture items, clad with Accoya Wood. Landscaping and furniture installation was completed by Space Landscape Construction for John Holland Group.
