It helps people focus on what is important ~ which is what you are teaching them in your course. You don't have be a scientist to create white space in your design. We are a 2 person team, and we created 10 online courses in 4 weeks!!!!! This is a gigantic achievement. Or that it reminds you of a watermelon. Either way, you notice it. This is called contrast. You notice it even more because pink and green are complementary colours on the colour wheel (that's for another day). ... Contrast is super important when it comes to text and we cannot stress this enough!. This is because you want your audience to be able to be read your text quickly and effortlessly. So it's time to stop putting blue text on a green background or yellow text on a white background. Keep it classic with black and white, or venture into the world of complementary colours! See more

09.01.2022 Time - something we all need more of If you are creating an online course, you may have found that it chews up a lot of your time. Whether it be creating videos, writing content, editing that content, uploading to a platform - the list goes on. Here are some ways you can organise your time, so your course not only gets created, but you also have time to shower, eat dinner and watch a bit of Netflix. 1. Plan your course structure. Wha...t will you be teaching and in what order? Make a table or a list of each heading or topic you will be covering. 2. Plan your time based on your course structure. If you have 5 modules and 5 weeks to create your course, then by-golly you are going to be working hard! Spend 4 weeks working on the modules then leave the final week for uploading the content to the platform and testing....trust us; you will need a week for this! 3. If you have videos to shoot, consider the time of day you need to do this. Think about background noise like traffic and random mowers (we have lived this experience). Consider filming at night when the world is a little quieter. Also, think about lighting and editing. This s**t takes forever! Videos are a hard slog, so make sure you DO THEM EARLY. Do not wait until the last minute to film. 4. If you get overwhelmed, ask for help! Do you know someone who loves software that can upload the course for you? Is your cousin's best friend a video editor? Outsourcing on Fiverr is awesome! Please, please, please - ask for help. You do not have to suffer through creating a course by yourself (yes, some times there is a bit of suffering mainly because it's harder than it looks). As always, we are here to help you too! 01.01.2022 I can't tell you how many conversations I've had with people who are stressed out over creating their course. These are the top 5 most common stress causes: 1. You have an idea but don't know what to do next 2. You have started creating your course but don't know if it's any good 3. You have your ideas, structure and flow but don't have time to put it all together and pop it online 4. You have been creating your content for over 3 mo...nths and have now lost motivation to keep going 5. You have all of the content but don't know which platform is best for your purposes If you have never created a course (on or offline) and you are either on the journey or at the very start then you may already be wanting to throw in the towel. Why? Because there is a lot involved. I studied for 12 months to get my qualification to become an Instructional Designer!
