19.01.2022 Putting off your dental visits can impact your overall health. Most patients have been forced to delay their appointments over the last few months during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, we are now open and seeing patients. We can assure you that we are safely performing treatment. Although infection control has always been at its highest standard for us, we have implemented a few new changes for peace in mind for our patients. Changes made are:... - Screening patients by phoning all patients who are booked in to ask if they have had any recent symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath or have been unwell in any way. We also ask if patients have been in contact with any confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases, or if they have recently travelled. - Taking temperatures on arrival of both staff and patients and giving patients hand sanitiser when they arrive and leave the surgery. - Sneeze screens installed at front office. - Gaps blocked out between patients to minimise contact between patients and to allow us the time to thoroughly disinfect all surfaces before the next patient arrives. - Nurses and Operators gowning up during treatment. - Giving patients a pre-procedural rinse which allows any unwanted bacteria to be subsided. We are still disinfecting surfaces and chairs between every patient as usual, and we are also disinfecting eftpos machines and door handles in between patient use. So please, do not hesitate to book your appointment in, as we are doing all we can to make our wonderful patients and staff feel at ease when they come to our clinic :)

03.01.2022 Going into self-isolation or quarantine may feel daunting or overwhelming. Fear and anxiety about the pandemic can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions. Th...ere are a number of ways to support your mental health during periods of self-isolation or quarantine and we are always here to support you. > Remind yourself that this is only a temporary period of isolation. > Its important to stay connected with friends and family. If you cannot see them in person, a video call or a phone call works perfectly to keep in touch! > Routines sound dull, but theyre good for our mental health. Try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, eat at regular times, shower, and change your clothes. This will help you to manage your days and adjust when life starts to go back to normal. > Manage your stress levels, and if needed, increase your coping strategies (listen to music, watch your favourite shows, meditation, etc.). > Keep taking your medication and stick to your treatment plan. Phone or email your GP or pharmacist to find out how to get any new prescriptions you may need. 01.01.2022 In accordance to the governments and health experts suggestions regarding COVID-19, we have decided to shut down our surgery for 5 weeks in order to keep our staff and patients safe. This decision was not taken lightly and we hope all of our patients are supportive of this decision. We will reassess the situation around the 1st of May 2020 and will reopen when it is safe for everyone to attend our clinic. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and we wish for everyo...ne to stay safe during this unprecedented time. Warmest regards, The Sparkle Dental Care Team.
