09.04.2022 Training, capital and encouragement are enabling the publication of the first Christian books in the Tetun language. This year Fébia Gonçalves and her colleagues at Scripture Union in Dili will translate The Gospel Story Bible by Marty Machowski. Pray that when they read this book together, children and parents will come to love and trust our Heavenly Father and become agents of his saving grace in Timor Leste. 24.01.2022 Hot off the press! The initial publications in the Re:CONSIDERING Series developed by the Centre for Public Christianity with Acorn Press are now available. These two essays by Natasha Moore and Tim Costello reframe familiar paradigms in our culture and point to the transcending hope that only God offers.

24.01.2022 Natasha Moore, author of the 2020 Australian Book of the Year, invites us to consider the unexpected motives lurking behind our society’s intensifying ‘glass half empty’ attitude. THE PLEASURES OF PESSIMISM From the new Re:CONSIDERING Series brought to you by the Centre for Public Christianity with Acorn Press.

23.01.2022 Compassion literally means to ‘suffer with’. Most of us want a ‘costless’ compassion: write the cheque, offer the smile. To actually ‘suffer with’ is profoundly against our desires not to be involved, not to expose ourselves. But compassion goes to the depth of what we are made to be. Tim Costello talks to Simon Smart about his new book THE COST OF COMPASSION.... https://www.facebook.com/publicchristianity/posts/10157813178214773 Pick up a copy! https://www.koorong.com/c/tim-costello

23.01.2022 Throughout Argentina we have seen a desire to learn and teach the Bible in greater depth. We have published a home-grown Christian education curriculum for children, youth and adults. More projects are on the way. We count on your prayers. You are part of God’s response to our cry. It is God who goes forward: opening doors, directing our vision and providing the necessary resources. He is faithful! Please pray for the recruitment of new writers to our editorial team. Pr...ay that the Lord will give us the creativity to produce material that is relevant and useful for the church. 20.01.2022 Before I teach, preach or write, I read. Books encourage me to live a life consistent with Christ’s call. This year, SparkLit bought my theological college a digital library. This is a true blessing to us, especially while the pandemic stops us from visiting the college library. A digital library will also enable me to complete my doctoral studies without having to leave Myanmar. Thank you! Read more of David’s story: http://sparklit.org/2020/11/26/gods-surprising-call/... 16.01.2022 We wanted to have a candid conversation about the history of Christianity. It’s not possible to have a conversation about all the good stuff that Christianity has brought unless we own up to all the terrible things people have done in its name. Natasha Moore Author of the 2020 Australian Christian Book of the Year Eternity News

15.01.2022 If you scratch the surface of our collective pessimism... There’s something kind of mesmerising about watching everything fall apart especially from the safety of our couches. 13.01.2022 THE COST OF COMPASSION Tim Costello Re:CONSIDERING Series Who's in favour of compassion? Pretty much everybody.... So why do we have so much trouble addressing the conflict, inequality, and suffering in our world? Tim Costello appeals to our common humanity and takes an unflinching look at how costly compassion can be. Acorn Press Pick up a copy! https://www.koorong.com/c/tim-costello

11.01.2022 Congratulations Meredith Lake! Updated edition of the 2018 Australian Christian Book of the Year to be released in November 2020.

09.01.2022 I met Jesus through reading God’s words. Jesus has made lots of differences in my life. Bible Knowledge classes widen my understanding of God’s work and build my faith. Edina is among the first Tanzanian secondary students to finish the new four-year Bible Knowledge syllabus. There is great demand for Christian education in government schools. With sufficient teachers and course material, this program could be taught in hundreds of schools. As a follower of Jesus I have m...et with opposition and challenges from my non-Christian family and community. God’s words encourage me when I am disappointed.
