20.01.2022 "VW Kombi Fans" Recently we had a run of VW Kombi vans through the workshop. Some repairs have turned into restoration jobs, ie converting the horn switch back to original steering wheel position, and engine cooling shroud repairs etc.. One Kombi had reoccurring generator fan damage. The engine was removed and revealed that the significantly important air cooling shroud (no radiator) did not sit down properly, due to improper fitted accelerator cable guide/ pipe Quick modification - knock-off generator was "filed" in the round filing cabinet i.e. bin and a quality OEM unit was fitted, 2nd hand shroud cleaned & painted and the engine re-fitted and all components tested. One happy Kombi back on the road and now running much cooler.
16.01.2022 In light of the current pandemic, Sparks On The Go has implemented additional levels of protection for ourselves and our customers. All car surfaces are disinfected - ie keys, steering wheel, handles etc. New social distancing practices are in place, preferably with a phone call prior to arrival. We would also like to offer a free pick up and drop off service to allow additional precautions should they be required. Thanks for reading and see you on the other side of the situation at hand.
16.01.2022 UPGRADE CAPABILITY A return customer had purchased a new van. Previous charging system installed easily facilitated a new 50AMP Anderson plug to charge van battery. Original thought behind system design was for systems to be future-proofed and provide longevity.... The pictures show 250AMP battery studs (note new black cabling) and DC to DC charger. This system can handle dust, dirt and most environmental conditions. Should the owner change vehicles, it can easily be re-installed in any vehicle and perform.

04.01.2022 "Stopping your vehicle" I initially thought this info might just be for the Tech heads out there, yet it really has a far reaching audience i.e. More often than not we all need our brakes to work at their best! Vehicle came ABS light on dash? (Anti-brake skidding). Diagnostic checks were made, sensor readings on test drive all proved normal. ... Upon closer inspection, some very small debris was seen on the wheel speed? The sensor is magnetic and relies upon notches in the inner wheel hub to induce a frequency/voltage back the ABS module and then it can see individual wheel speed calculations. The module uses this to determine where to prioritise the brake fluid and apply and stop yr wheel skidding so you pull up significantly earlier. Anyway this vehicle was flood damaged 5 years ago in storm water.. hence the very rusty brake rotors are now breaking down and iron deposits are falling onto the sensor and upsetting the ability to effectively brake the vehicle, especially when really required! Hopefully you find this interesting!
