23.01.2022 We need to take up our space! We are half the population yet nothing has changed in the last hundred years. Women over 55 are the highest homeless statistic. Women retire with less super after rearing children and supporting family businesses and spouses. The pay gap still exists in 2020 and not enough woman are at the decision making table. The structural inequality is astounding. Women are overwhelmingly the victims of domestic abuse, suffering sexual, physical, verbal, emo...tional, psychological, financial, spiritual abuse and trauma in huge numbers. Those who argue this fact are part of the problem or benefitting from oppression. One woman per week is murdered by a current or former partner. Women who leave domestic abusers are usually drawn into a draconian world of the family court where women who speak of abuse are labeled and discredited as mentally unwell liars (Pauline Hanson is the leading the charge here). The go to for abusive men is to use the now debunked Parental Alienation Syndrome which was championed by a questionable and highly criticised child psychiatrist, Richard Gardner, (yes he worked primarily with children ) who believed sex between children and adults was normal. We cannot know who will lose their life next but we can know without these laws there will be further stolen lives. Please tell me what is holding up the decision to save women’s lives?!?
