25.01.2022 C L A Y A R T Today our kindy children engaged in a clay art experience, they were all so eager to tell me and show me everything the were making! Every child was intrinsically engaged in the experience and the room was buzzing with imagination and wonder! Clay art is an open ended art experience that develops childrens fine motor muscle strength and control. Using clay instead of play dough promotes the use of natural resources and drives children to create permanent scu...lpted pieces and take a look into the science behind solids through visual representations of the properties of matter. This activity met the following learning outcomes (along with many others): 4.1 Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity. 4.4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials And also the following WA Kindy Curriculum Guidelines: 4.5.5 use simple tools and materials to investigate, take apart, assemble, invent, construct, change and represent ideas 5.3.1 verbalise ideas and simple concepts and ask questions to clarify concepts #WeAreSparrow #EngageCreateLearn

21.01.2022 Babies Vacancies Update Good Afternoon Everyone, We hope you are all keeping healthy and safe during this week's lockdown!... I just wanted to update you on the current occupancy status of our babies room. As of Monday 15th February we will have a waitlist in place for bookings into the babies room on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week. These three days are now permanently booked to capacity. Mondays currently has 1 permanent place available each week, and Friday's have 3 spaces left each week. If you require a casual booking and it is showing as being full on the app, please contact the service via phone or email to discuss further or to be placed on the waitlist for a future space. 17.01.2022 LOCKDOWN UPDATE Dear Families, As you are aware, our Premier Mark McGowan has advised, the whole Perth metropolitan area, the Peel region and the south-west region are now in a 5 day lockdown until Friday, February 5.... As directed by the Premier, if you can stay at home, please do so. As child care has been deemed an essential service we are remaining open for children of families who need to go to work at this time. From today Monday, February 1 we ask that families maintain social distancing while waiting in the foyer on drop off and pick up and our team will assist your child/ren to their rooms. On entry can you please ensure that you sanitise before signing in at the KIOSK and leave your mask on at all times while in the Centre. If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons please contact us before arriving at the service so we are able to support you during drop off and pick up. We will also be undertaking temperature checks and reducing movement through the service. Our team is focusing on the health and wellbeing of the children in our care, our team and our community. We are actively seeking confirmation from the Government regarding absences, fees and further impacts of this lockdown on our service. We will update you once we have any further information.
