24.01.2022 Playgroup at Bribie Island State School this morning! Looks like theres some more great experiences planned for next week (see shared post). Playgroup meets every Thursday 9-10.30am and we are so proud to support this!!!

23.01.2022 The children in the Jnr Kindy, Pre Kindy and Kindy children worked hard on their robot project out in the Atelier last week. He comes with all of his micro chips, on/ off switch and other dials. The children all worked so hard together that they decided to call him Jagger the Robot in celebration of a new born sibling here at Sparrow.

On behalf of one of our community friends we are collecting good condition donations of second hand or new toys, clothes, linen etc. to be taken to the Normanton Aboriginal Community. 20.01.2022 Some very excited children proudly showing what they done at their first transition to Prep visit at the Bribie Island State School Soar into Bribie program. At Sparrow Sandstone Point we value the importance of school transitions and making the next journey in the childrens lifes as smooth as possible. We work closely with Bribie Island State School supporting their playgroup each week and their Prep teachers also visit the Kindergarten children in our service. A familiar face and environment definitely makes what can be a daunting experience for some a little easier.

17.01.2022 Today we farewelled Miss Cherie. Miss Cherie is taking some time off work to focus on her family. We wish her all the best. She has promised to keep in touch and pop in from time to time. Thank you Cherie for all you have done for the families and educators at Sandstone Point.

06.01.2022 A birds nest was found on the ground near the service and it was given to the Kindergarten group. Over the past two days through different art mediums the children have made their own nests and birds. They have also been watching out for and had discussions about the bird wildlife in our surrounding environment. Learning comes in many forms. Its so important to embrace what the children show an interest in. We are fortunate that one of our Kindergarten teachers Miss B is also an artist and was able to teach the children about using clay during their exploration with this medium today.

01.01.2022 As an extension of learning about our surrounding flora and fauna, today the Kindergarten children drew designs and then made bird feeders. The iPads were used to research before designing, constructing and then installing their feeders in our playground. We patiently await now to see which birds come to visit.

We will be celebrating the uniqueness and importance of the knowledge and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, starting in childhood. 01.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to Miss Sarndra from our Junior Kindy room. Miss Sarndra has been working hard with the team to create a wonderful room environment with the children. You may have also noticed the amazing work that Miss Sarndra has been doing with our current concierge service. Thank you Miss Sarndra for ensuring that all the children have their belongings with them and all their messages about their day is passed on to our awaiting families. Miss Sarndra is a long sanding staff member who always gives the children, families and team 110%. We are very lucky to have Miss Sarndra here as a valued member of Sparrow Sandstone Point.
