25.01.2022 As we come to a close for the year we get asked many questions from students moving into their VCE. The most common question; Is VCE hard? Our answer; Only if you make it that way. Spartan Tuition will be hosting several "Prep for success: VCE programs" Over the end of year and school holiday period.... Who is this for? Anyone moving into year 11 OR year 12. Or anyone who wants to get a head and set themselves up for success. The best of the best stay cool, calm and collected under pressure; it's not their physical, but their mental game that keeps them ahead of the pack. What will you learn? How to study in VCE How to mentally prepare each day for VCE How to be mentally stable throughout VCE How is VCE calculated and worked out for ATAR Understanding opportunity and option leading up to your final exams Preparing for any Additional entrance exams for university (UCAT) Want to know more? Get in touch with our team! Have a great week! Spartan Tuition

25.01.2022 This is going to be a long post; Two things we want to do here as Spartans with this post. Firstly;... Good luck to all the VCE students. This has been a WHACK year and I think we can all agree that no one should go through what 2020 has been like, EVER. Go well with your English exams and go will with your finals, looking forward to seeing the end results for all! Secondly; A bit of a Spartan Spotlight, this lovely human has been working both as a VCE tutor and teacher in training. Someone with a massive heart and an infectious smile. Kirstie Irish has been providing nothing but magic to her classes and to top that off, she has been bringing magic to our team chats and catch ups. Always looking to develop and evolve her skills and talents, Kirstie will not let anyone go without. "I want advice on how to be better" is something that strikes chords with us at Spartan from Kirstie. Someone who doesn't settle for mediocre and someone who brings her A-game all game. We Spartans are lucky to have you in our lives and on our team. Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to seeing how your students kick goals in 2020 and beyond. From the team here at Spartan we would like to say, Thanks and looking forward to 2021. Adrian - Spartan Tuition

22.01.2022 WHAT.A.YEAR! 2020 has been: Unrelenting, Confronting, and Inspiring. Spartan Tuition started in 2019 with the goal to change the stigma around schooling and promote free thinking, growth and individualism in all our students.... Today Spartan Tuition turns ONE! We aren't just celebrating 12-months of tutoring, we are celebrating the laughs, tears and triumphs of our team. We are celebrating the late night phone calls with parents, the early morning around the country catch ups from West Melbourne to Western Australia and the hours of banter between student and mentor. Spartan Tuition will uphold its values every minute of everyday. We are all family, and we are all in this together. Whether a parent, brother, sister, student or team member, we are united and will stand as one. Our ethics, drive, dedication and focus has created a network that is skilled, enthusiastic, approachable and effective. We aren't just tutors, we are mentors, friends and family. Be kind to all Lots of Love and thank you for the continuous support, Adrian Waghorn - Spartan Tuition Founder

22.01.2022 Hey everyone! We at Spartan Tuition hope you have had an awesome break. We are looking at setting up a FREE VCE Mathematics workshop at Brighton Library next Thursday the 2nd after school. 21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We know everyone's confused, stressed and tired. We know there's a lot of uncertainty around what going on now and what happens next. Spartan Tuition are here to help in any way we can. Times like these bring out the best and the worst in people. We want to help you be your best.... Those who succeed in life find and maximise every opportunity they get. Every event in our lives is an opportunity to grow. Is it easy to panic given the current situation? Yes, it is. But, working through things with a cool, calm and collected mind is what will get you through and on top of what's happening. We can assure you that if you get through this you can get through any situation. It boils down to mindset, attitude and having someone to help you work through things. We have spoken to some of our mentors (tutors) and created a small post talking about how every chance is an opportunity and how we can grow, learn and improve through Covid-19 and anything else that comes our way. Check it out at shorturl.at/aizHO We want to support as many people as we can throughout this trying time and will be sharing some videos, posts and some material through: - Our website (https://www.spartantuition.com/) - Our facebook page Spartan Tuition, and - Other pages we post into over the coming weeks. To help give you what you really need please comment below on what content you'd like us to create. Stay safe and remember to be kind, understanding and empathetic human being. We all need that more than ever. Much Love, The Spartan Tuition Team

20.01.2022 Hey guys! I was sitting at my desk and taking notes and comparing common questions our tutors get asked by clients (Students and the occasional parent). The most common; How do you manage downtime effectively and positively? Several things came to mind: Physical activity - A chance to work on your mind and body (Walking, gym, swimming etc)... Reading - Creative thinking and thought processes develop drive, motivation and in some cases creative sparks that were once dormant Investing/business/economics/news - Learn about money and what others are doing with money. Learn about business and how the world works. Read about what is happening today and form opinions. Create your own ideas about what is happening in our backyard. Gaming - This is a touchy pastime, but it has been suggested that gaming can improve reaction time and decision making skills. One of my go-to options to wind down is: Podcasts- There are so many to listen to and so much variety. Some inspirational and some controversial. These are a great way to pass some time. Below I have linked a Podcast which I listen to regularly from Craig Harper. It is free and fun, but be warned, this podcast is quite explicit, if that isn't an issue. Give it a listen! You won't regret it. https://player.whooshkaa.com/shows/the-you-project We as humans are always growing and learning. To use our spare time effectively can make even the most rainy day seem like a gem! Thanks again guys! Adrian - Spartan Tuition

19.01.2022 What a day, what a week, what a month and well, what a year! 2020 has been like no other, and we must all take the good, the bad, the ugly and most importantly the FANTASTIC. For those who don't know about or haven't started looking into medicine acceptance, all students (give or take a few) must complete the tedious and trialling UCAT exam.... This exam is competitive, interesting and can be an absolute joy to teach. We were privileged enough at Spartan Tuition to have been part of the journey for students across ALL of Australia in their preparations for the UCAT exam for 2020. We will not call out any of our wonderful students who completed or are set to complete the UCAT in the coming days, but we would love to give a massive shout out and snaps to our UCAT mentors. With their skills and life experiences they made something so daunting and competitive into something that felt like an ordinary exam whilst also giving confidence to our pupils. First off we have, Tash Mclaurin, an absolute gem and if you ever feel like giving up, have a chat to her, she will make you aware of just how awesome you are, and that no goal should be given up. Secondly we have Jack Cameron, a medical student by trade, but definitely someone you want in your corner. With truth bombs around the UCAT and the drive to see his students succeed, Jack really makes you feel empowered around your exam work. From us at Spartan Tuition, we would love to congratulate all 2020 participants for their UCAT completion. We would love to congratulate all our UCAT pupils and finally love to congratulate our team. Making dreams reality and making sure everyone has opportunity. Thanks from us all! Adrian - Spartan Tuition

17.01.2022 To the Spartan Tuition family, In light of recent accusations, We would like to say that: We do not condone nor accept any form of misconduct or abuse from or to our employees. We take great pride in our care, support and service. ... We do our best to support our mentors and clients as best we can. Spartan Tuition is a family and as a family we will assist each other anyway we can. We do not take these claims lightly and in this case we do not take to slandering and defamation of a single or group of individuals. To those who have already seen these videos we hope you have come to the only true conclusion. To those who havent seen the videos and from this do so; you will know who we are as a company, as individuals and as friends. We will be taking matters further and intend to rectify the issue that these comments have placed on our brand and us as individuals. Thank you for your continued support. The Spartan Tuition Team

14.01.2022 "Every success story is a tale of constant adaptation, revision and change" - Richard Branson Spartan Tuition's tale of growth, adaptation and change is something we see in many businesses from those small to fortune 500's.... We are always looking to give back to the community and making sure people are above profits. The end goal isn't the revenue, but the development of all involved and the ability to provide opportunity. I want to personally thank all the families, friends and the Spartan Team. Through this time we have shared: smiles, worries, cooking escapades, triumphs and lessons learnt. Although this post is to say thanks for what has been, it is also to shed light on what we are to become. Spartan Tuition has done its revision, it is changing and always adapting to the tomorrow. I would like to introduce the newest member of the Spartan Family, Sienna. Why the introduction you might ask? Apart from Sienna giving her time to help grow Spartan's business ideas and knowledge base, she is also our first Spartan working outside of Victoria. I feel privileged and honoured to announce that Spartan Tuition is now supporting students in Sydney and the surrounds! I look forward to the growth Spartan is undergoing and I am excited to see the team continue to grow and develop as a family. Welcome to the team Sienna! Lets make some MAGIC! - Adrian, Founder

13.01.2022 In our last post we spoke about Elon Musk and how he uses FIRST PRINCIPLES to take his learning to the next level. We learnt what this approach is and how it works. In Part II of How to think like Elon Musk we learn, WHY you should care about breaking an idea down to its fundamentals and HOW you can use first principles to really UNDERSTAND how anything works. This is the third article in our, "Work SMART not just hard" series. Stay tuned for our next article that explores th...e importance of knowing your WHY. Is there any technique you've heard about and would like us to explore? Let us know in the comments below. Make sure you turn on notifications for our page so you don't miss a thing!

12.01.2022 We know down here in Victoria that VCE students are in the thick of their final exams. They are working tirelessly and haven't stopped, even when Covid tried to beat them down on more than one occasion. Their families, friends and greater networks have been sources of support, motivation and guidance in these tough times. We want to congratulate everyone, not just the VCE student, and look forward to the completion of this year for all students!... In other news! This little spiel is also about congratulating and highlighting someone who has worked effortlessly to provide a platform for students to learn the French language. Imagine that? Learning a language, online with the interference of lag, and microphone breakup. Making it even harder to pick up inflection, tone and even syllables. Alice Sabouraud hasn't let any of these become obstacles in achieving what she does. With a passion for her native tongue, and with a talent for the fine arts, she brings elegance to teaching and a massive smile. Constantly receiving praise from her students she doesn't let anything stop her from motivating and lifting them up. If you were ever wondering "Should I learn French?", The answer is a simple "Yes, let me introduce you to Alice" as she makes it fun and care free. On a little side note, which we found not only entertaining, but really speaks about our team and their interest in our students as "individuals" not just students. A comment I received from Alice's student earlier in the month was that "He enjoys discussing politics with Alice, as they have differing opinions and are civil over discussion and he isn't mistreated because he has a differing opinion" In today's society and with social media, being able to get this sort of feedback from a VCE student made me not only smile, but applaud Alice for her outstanding maturity and professionalism. Well Done Alice and good luck for University and 2021. Check out her work in progress down below! All the best family! Adrian - Spartan Tuition

08.01.2022 Spartan Spotlight! Something new we want to do here at Spartan is show the talent and magic that is in our team! Today, we'd like to shine a light on someone who has been helping us grow, bring a smile to faces and also support students, parents and other mentors through some not so easy times. ... Sheetal, is on our management team and when she isn't studying her fish at Monash University's fish laboratory, she is bringing the Midas touch to Spartan Tuition. A gentle soul with an amazing mind, a kind heart with an eye for detail and a passion that makes others want to jump up and give 200%. Keep up the amazing work and we love having you here at Spartan Tuition!

07.01.2022 If you've heard of Tesla, you've probably heard of Elon Musk. He can learn almost anything. How does he do it? He learns using FIRST PRINCIPLES In this article you will learn about thinking using FIRST PRINCIPLES. You will learn WHAT first principles are and HOW they work. This is the second article in our, "Work SMART not just hard" series. Stay tuned for Part II where you can learn HOW you can use this amazing technique to supercharge your learning.... Is there any technique you've heard about and would like us to explore? Let us know in the comments below. Make sure you turn on notifications for our page so you don't miss a thing!

07.01.2022 It is time for another Spartan Spotlight! Today we shine our light on the English and Legal guru Yashima. With an innate interest in the laws, Yashima prides herself in her ways with English, and all things "Law". Some might say a future Legal advisor for Spartan, but you didn't hear that from us!... With a will to see results, a dedication to her students and a passion for self improvement we can honestly say that Yashima will put it all on the table to give her all to her students. Something that always catches our attention about Yashima is her continuous drive to improve her own teaching, communication and personal skills. We know that she will be an amazing lawyer in the not too distant future and we know that her care, passion and selfless drive is what makes her an incredible individual all around. Keep being you, Yashima, and promoting your passion for life! Thank you for doing what you do and being one of our Spartans!

03.01.2022 Thought of the day: I was sitting with a coffee in hand and discussing success with an old friend and mentor. I am actually fortunate enough for it to be my Nonno (grandfather). The Prime Minister Mr. Johnson was a major talking point and a very hot topic. It lead us down the path of understanding, opinion, information, application and overall opportunity in learning. ... Before I had any chance to speak the first words uttered were "Never forget where you have come from and always work to be a better" Our world presents us with many opportunities, self-made or otherwise, and it is in us to observe these and take action where appropriate. Unfortunately this isn't always possible as factors including social and financial pressure can take ahold and lead us down a dark path. Where am I going with this? Don't let others hold you back with your dreams or aspirations. We are ALL geniuses and all MASTERS of our own destinies. Obliterate the norm, change what you can change, overcome what you can't. Love the life you've imagined and always push for evolution. Always push to learn, Always push to understand, Always push to forward yourself. I think something that is very close to my heart as well is that; we always have someone to talk to, even when we think we don't. We are never alone, and our dreams should never go without being heard. Build your own brand and your own image: Have a look at this photo and comment the first thing that comes to mind when you look at this man. After that I would like you to go read a bit about him. Magnus Walker owner of "Serious Clothing" and an extensive Porsche collection. We are all geniuses and are all capable of greatness: work hard, work smart and most of all...ENJOY! Cheers, Adrian - Spartan Tuition

03.01.2022 We are all in this together. Some great news coming out of everyone's efforts to social distance and listen. Some not so amazing news regarding our Year 12's, but like everything, lets work together and make some magic. Lots of love to all. The Spartan Family

We provide support from basic understanding all through to UCAT exam and interview practice. You can either take it on in a private 1-on-1 session, online or get together with some friends in a group setting. Thanks for the read and look forward to hearing from you all! Enjoy the holidays!!!

02.01.2022 Here is a massive shoutout to a larger than life human who gives to the people he works with and to the team. Liam Francis is not only a bundle of laughs, but is determined and motivated to get only the best out of the families he is involved with. Whether it be an extra practice essay written for VCE late at night, or some year 5 motivational work. He doesn't give more or less to anything, he gives his all to EVERYTHING.... His capacity to command the English language and make something so intricate and difficult look so easy and relaxing is a skill that shouldn't be shrugged off. A common denominator in all comments made about Liam is that he is understanding, confident and entertaining. That is true in the team too. Being easy to communicate with is so important in our professional work, but being able to do it day-in and day-out it something to be commended. What a team player, what a team member and what a mentor to families and friends alike. Keep up the work and don't stop being you. All the best come 2021, Adrian - Spartan Tuition
