Come and learn this fun and funky blues dance and discover how to layer it onto the movements you already know!... 6 pm: All-Levels Moves and Grooves Side-by-Side! This week we're going to cover a simple turn to throw us into some funky side-by-side moves. Every week in this class we cover everything you need to get you ready for a fun time on the social dance floor, so all are welcome! 7 pm: Free social dancing with DJ Brodie!
19.01.2022 Come join us this evening for a great evening at Sunday Night Blues. First off at 5pm, we are going to continue to nerd out over shaping, by exploring the peabody, and how it can be incorporated into our blues dancing (check out the video below to see what the peabody is!) Then at 6pm in the all levels moves and grooves class, we are going to explore what you might do when you move out of slow drag but want to keep dancing with slows, including some fun moves for you to tak...e out onto the social dance floor. Continuing our body shaping theme from last week, we’re going to cover this classic travelling movement and learn how to hit the blues shuffle when we do it to keep it nice and cool! 6 pm: All-Levels Moves and Grooves More Slows! We’re going to explore a basic slow rhythm through some fun moves anybody can learn. We cover fundamentals every week in this class... to get you ready for the social floor, so all are welcome! 7 pm: Free social dancing with DJ Naomi!

07.01.2022 Welcome back to a new year of Sunday night blues dancing! We are looking forward to seeing you and having a dance at the Exford TONIGHT! To kick off classes this year, Brodie and Emily will be exploring slow drag, the oldest of the blues idiom dances. In the Nerd Out session at 5pm, they will be using slow drag as a starting off point to dig into body shaping in blues dance (it’s ok if you aren’t familiar with slow drag!)... If you are curious what slow drag is, in the 6pm moves and grooves class Brodie and Emily will be teaching slow drag from scratch! All levels welcome, from first time dancers to those experienced at moving and grooving to blues. Followed by free social dancing with DJ Brodie!

Continuing our themes of bodyshaping and offset movement, we’ll be working on travelling in close embrace and how to step offset and back again to give out travelling a little spice! 6 pm: All-Levels Moves and Grooves More Slows! This week it’s we’re playing with connected passbys, the momentum they generate, and a little fun we can have with that. 05.01.2022 On this long weekend, we celebrate the traditional owners of the land we are fortunate enough to dance on: the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and all Aboriginal people in our community. As a way of paying the rent, we have been collecting money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation for a few years, and we've been able to bank $410 in 2019. Thanks to everyone who has given even the smallest something towards the donation. We'll see you back at the Exford on Sunday 2nd Feb with classes by Emily and Brodie. :D
