22.01.2022 2010/11 Triple Crown Premiership Reunion Weekend. .... Late in the day on March 27th 2011 it was complete... we’d done it, we’d won the Triple Crown, getting victory in all 3 grades.... A Grade B Grade C1 Grade. All winners. All PREMIERS. 10 years on, we’re coming together to celebrate and reminisce about a time that’ll live on in our hearts and minds forever. We’re calling on ALL those who were involved, be it players, committee or supporters to come along. The weekend will kick off with a beer up at the graveside of Braedon Pup Hensel from 5.30pm on Friday 22nd January, followed by dinner at the Newy from 7.30pm. Saturday we come together on Pups Hill at The Xavierdome from 2pm to watch Deano’s A-Grade team take on Lavington. Sunday arvo from 1pm we’ll meet again on The Deck at the Newy. 14.01.2022 This weekend saw A & B grade play rounds 8 & 9 as the C Grade divisions were called off due to extreme heat. A Grade: Saturday vs Tallangatta Dean won the toss at Xavier and elected to bat. Crawsh fell early as Donk (67) & Mitch (50) put on 112 for the second wicket. Two quick wickets had us 3/118. 03.01.2022 Weekend Recap R5 A & B Grade R4 C1 & C2 A Grade took on Lavington at Lavington 2, Dean won the toss and chose to bat first. Smithy was out early to be 1/10. Crawshaw (34) looked set to post another big score before being run out. Mitch top scored with 48, Kilby (34) made his highest score for the season. SPCC finished 7/190 after 50 overs. Lavington got off to a strong start before Dean got the breakthrough at 1/83. We then went on to take 4/15 to turn the match on its head w...ith Lavington 5/111. Nick Flood finished 3/31 off 10. Dean economical 1/18 off 10. Pete Flood & Luke Evans bowled well to close the game out. SPCC def Lavington by 3 runs. B Grade hosted Lavington at Xavier, Sam won the toss and chose to bat first. The top 3 did not last long to be 3/35. Tom Cox (18) spent valuable time in the middle & a move down the order helped Justin (43*) find some form. Gater made 13 at the end to help us get to 8/132 from 45 overs. Lavington put on 60 for the first wicket before Azzi struck. Isaac bowled well, again, finishing with 0/14 off 7 overs. A run out to Isaac and a wicket to JT thanks to a great catch by Azzi saw us get two quick wickets. It wasn’t enough as Lavington reached the total after 37 overs. C1 Green took on Wodonga Raiders at Scots School. Raiders won the toss & chose to bat first. McKenna & Benson combined for a runout to have Raiders 1/0. Captain Smith took 3 fa, giving the top order nightmares. Gus Bus Macleod bowled exceptionally well taking 3/19 from 7 overs to restrict Wodonga Raiders to 7/153. It was all one way traffic with Seb 63* and Macca Dooley 73* chasing the score down without losing a wicket. SPCC win 0/158 after 29 overs. C1 White travelled to Howlong, they won the toss & chose to bat first. Plunky got the early breakthrough, Jack Hulme joined in the party as Howlong were 2/11. Phoenix Gothard finished with 3/24. Kane economical, again, going for just 14 off of his 8 overs. Howlong finished 6/108 after 40 overs. Kenny (38) and Fav (8) opened the batting, Fav fell early to bring Phoenix to the crease. He backed up his performance with the ball to finish on 44* as SPCC def Howlong 3/111. C2 take on Wodonga Raiders at Emerald Oval. Raiders batted first. Big Mac got the first wicket of the game to have Raiders 1/20. Captain Hilly bowled well for his 1/22 off of 8 overs. Trout and Rofey got one a piece, Plugga finished with 2 fa. Raiders finished 7/166 after 40. Bennie (38) and Keato (5) opened the batting, Keato dismissed early. Plugga (50) added another half century. Danny Salmon finished 31* to guide SPCC home finishing 8/177 after 40 overs.
