25.01.2022 We recently teamed up with the crew at Frank to create an initiative that focuses on those people in our community who have continuously demonstrated their unwavering support, dedication and kindness to others throughout 2020. We received many thoughtful and descriptive story submissions of nominees who have made a huge impact on people’s lives in our Tassie community. As a team, we had the tough decision to select 5 people to receive a $200 Frank voucher to share with ...someone special. Here are some of our worthy winners: Jackie’s hard work, perserverance and nurturing nature has allowed her to form and sustain meaningful relationships with many people and offer them new opportunities for their future. Simon is described as an honest, funny and dedicated friend who unwaveringly supports his mates who are struggling with mental health challenges. Cam’s optimisim, caring demeanor and overall zest for life makes him a positive and impactful member of not only his school but also our Tassie communty. His ability to devote his time to students, staff and his loved ones showcases his genuine and supportive nature. After experiencing the loss of one of his son’s, Michael has worked tirelessly to support his large family through such a difficult life event. Michael has given so much of himself to others and is a rock of support to those that need him. We know you will celebrate not only these amazing people, but all of the people across 2020 that have made life better or easier for someone else. Thanks again to Frank for your ongoing and incredible support Frank Restaurant and Bar

20.01.2022 Throughout this month, the Stay ChatTY team delivered the Schools Program at both Triabunna District School and Hobart College. Across the 5 sessions we had the chance to talk about mental health and the factors that can impact our overall wellbeing. Students learnt about useful skills that aim to not only support their own mental health, but also that of their class mates and loved ones.... The students were full of energy and showcased their motivation to join in on the mental health conversation and to be active help seekers in their communities. Thanks so much to Hobart College and Triabunna District School for entrusting the Stay ChatTY team to educate and empower these young minds! #StayChatTY #SchoolsProgram

20.01.2022 Renee and Rachel recently went along to Dominic College to share in 4 student sessions. The students were so engaged and excited to share in our new activities created in collaboration with our Youth Reference Group. Emma Burns, the school counsellor, was able to join in our sessions. This is a really important element of the program, as it allows students to become clear on who and where the support is available from within the school. ... We really appreciate all the teachers and support staff’s passion and involvement in making our sessions possible. #StayChatTY

20.01.2022 Today is both National R U OK Day and World Suicide Prevention day. A major day on both the mental health and suicide prevention calendars. We urge everyone to check in on both themselves and those around them for ongoing signs and symptoms of mental health issues not just today, but everyday. ... If you’re someone that doesn’t focus on mental health as much as what you could, today is a great day to educate yourself more on the services that are available. Familiarising yourself with the available support can be of benefit to you, but also for someone that you love and care about. #StayChatTY #RUOKDAY2020 See more

15.01.2022 Yesterday we launched a very exciting partnership with Cricket Tasmania for the upcoming 2020/21 season and beyond. The partnership demonstrates the ongoing commitment of two Tasmanian organisations to raise awareness about mental health. Cricket Tasmania will be working closely with us to provide players across the Tasmanian Tigers Hobart Hurricanes and Cricket Tasmania Premier League with the tools and skills to encourage a deeper understanding of mental health throu...ghout the community. Each team will have ambassadors that will then assist with raising club awareness, fundraising and education sessions. Stay ChatTY and Cricket Tasmania will raise awareness at various games across the 2020/21 season, then will collaborate on other events throughout the year. To be recognised by Cricket Tasmania, and to have them identify us an organisation they want to partner with on raising greater awareness to mental health is something that we are incredibly proud of. Thank you to the team at Cricket Tasmania for your support, and we look forward to creating positive change together. (Photo credit Nikki Davis Jones - The Mercury) See more
