In fact, preparation is the first step to your success The first step to developing your self-confidence There is no magic wand! Where do you start in the preparation process? Define the purpose of your speech, is it: - To Motivate? - To Inspire? - To Inform? - To Persuade? And, be very clear in your mind about your audience: 1. Who are they? 2. Why they are there? 3. Why should they listen to you? 4. What’s in it for them? 5. What next step do you want them to take? Preparation (and then practice) is the key to developing your self-confidence! Reg and I were absolutely privileged to attend a workshop with Dr Randy Harvey at the Toastmasters International District 70... Annual Conference in Wollongong, 2006... (or maybe it was 2007?)
