17.01.2022 On Tuesday 7 January we had our first meeting for the year, This was inspiring with 4 visiting Toastmasters 2 all the way from Gelong Toastmasters and 2 from Carlton Toastmasters. There where inspirations, laughter and information presented I did not know about. I learned there was a Female Bush ranger in the 1800 in NSW. About Bilbo Baggins and bush-fire risk and what could be done to minims them in the future. We had 2 guest joining us for the first time and a great debate over a cup of Tea and a beautiful slice of home baked cake from one of our members. If you like to learn something and have fun at the same time come and visit us on the 21 January. No need to ask if you can come along just turn up and learn what Speaking of Sustainability is all about. Have a great weekend and message me if you like more information.

14.01.2022 The poem that's gone viral after NSW farmer Joanna Collett posted it on the Prime Minister's facebook page: Gday Mr Morrison, I trust that you are fine, Sorry ...to be bothering you, but theres something on my mind I listened to a bloke last week; he had a bit to say You lot may have heard of him? He delivers all that hay? He spoke of countless hours and the distances they drive Feeding starving stock, to keep bush hopes alive They do not get assistance from your tax funded hat They do it on their own, all off their own bat Im not politically minded and I dont have any clout And I know youve done a tour, to learn about the drought But theres just some burning questions, that have left us feeling beat Why did we fund a foreign land, to learn to cut up meat? And what about those soccer boys, who went and got all lost You pulled out all the bloody stops, plain just showing off Youve bigger problems here at home, theres drought up to our necks So what does your mob go and do ? Give them big fat cheques! Dont they have a government to deal with all this stuff? Why should it be up to us, whats with all your fuss? Should we not be reigning in and look after our own Have you never heard the phrase charity starts at home? I realise theres many things, that need an allocation And I also can appreciate, complex trade relations Im not sure if you realise, but if our stock all die, There wont be any trade you see, your deals will all run dry As a rule were not a whinging lot, our requests are but a few Most of us who work the land, are tested, tried and true We respect that we are guardians, and sustain it for the kids But I often have to wonder, what future will it bring? I guess all that Im wondering, is wheres the Aussie aid? Wrapped up in a swag of tape, only then to be repaid ! Theres Aussie blokes and chicks out there, putting you to shame Helping fellow Australians, in their time of pain Im just a simple farmer, grazier, wife and mum And even though were feeding stock, were better off than some Ive never had to shoot a cow, who could no longer stand But many have before me, and I pray, Im not dealt that hand So will you take another look; admit that were in strife ? And do more than bloody empathise, before another farmer takes their life ? Id like to think youll do whats right and put Australia first And help your own damn country, before this drought gets any worse Joanna Collett Wee Waa NSW ..... I would like everyone on my Facebook page to copy this and share it Everyday until something is done. Save our Aussie farmers and communities that are doing it tough !! Charity starts at home!

06.01.2022 I have to say, I totally agree with this. As I sat in a cafe drinking my coffee and eating my sandwich 2 paramedics (who were obviously taking a chance to grab ...a quick bite between jobs) came in and joined the queue waiting to get their breakfast and cuppa. Just as they got to the till they got a message on the radio. They had to go at once. They both laughed and said "that always happens to us!" Then they both rushed out to help someone. Paramedics have one of the most important jobs in the world. Everyone else in the queue was just after a quick snack and a drink whilst shopping etc. Why don't we all we use this social media to get people (and companies) to allow paramedics and all other emergency services to jump the queue and get served as soon as they come in? That way they have a better chance of getting a drink and perhaps some food before they go on their day helping people. I would always happily stand back and let them go in front of me after all their next job could be me or someone I know or I love. If you agree then say so here then 'like' and perhaps share this if you care. Thank you.

04.01.2022 Photo form Humorous Contest with first, second and third place

04.01.2022 The last meeting of the year was another excellent hybrid meeting with members and guests both online and at St. Pius X. John officiated his last meeting as President having served in the role for 2 years as an exemplary toastmaster and leader. Heres a wrap-up for those that werent able to join us,,, There were 3 prepared speeches from Sharon, John and Bibi. Sharon reminded us of the importance to critically review propaganda, John took us on his journey as club President t...hrough the ups and downs for an establishing club, and Bibi provided a summary of her HPL (high performance leadership) project to run an area contest. The lessons on leadership, asking for assistance, and understanding your own strengths and weaknesses are relevant to all. Emmi, Robert H. and Mary provided encouraging evaluations for each of the speakers. Table topics conducted by Barbara continued the leadership theme where Michael shared secrets about how he became District 73s most awarded toastmaster with 12 educational goals completed in 2019/20! Definitely a plethora of awards aptly described by evaluator Maddie. Emmi described how she came to love spreadsheets as a master treasurer and Robert H. shared his aspirations as incoming Area E17 Director. Nick, having now returned from a study exchange in Canada, is taking up the role as club VPPR and plans to use his computing skills to develop our clubs electronic profile perhaps in LinkedIn. Michaels general evaluation was considered and thorough. Suggestions for improvements included a theme for the meeting next meetings theme will be being green. See more
