24.01.2022 When your child is learning to talk remember to talk about the immediate environment, what they can see and hear. By talking about what your child is doing allows them to match words to their experiences. Using a variety of different words is important rather than just naming objects and people. Your child needs to hear words that describe things (small, fluffy), action words (drink, sleep), location words (there, on) and questions words (what? where?).

20.01.2022 The term "speech intelligibility" refers to speech clarity or the percentage of your child’s speech a listener can understand. As children learn to talk, their speech intelligibility to those around them steadily increases. A key characteristic of children with speech sound disorders is that they are often significantly less intelligible than non-speech-impaired children of the same age. If you are concerned regarding your child’s speech sound development, please call our friendly staff at 9526 2788.
