23.01.2022 James Summerhayes- James is one of the true gentlemen of our basketball squad! His passion and enthusiasm for basketball and his Special Olympics mates is second to none. Here are his great answers to the questions that Lorraine Clark had asked our players to consider in regard to their lives during the past eight months of COVID. * How did you keep in touch with your team mates? As soon as COVID hit, the club stayed connected with Zoom group catch ups. This was a brillian...t way to keep in touch with each other. One of the things I love about this club is the mateship we have as a team. * Did you reach out to friends to see how they are feeling? Yes I did over the phone and through Instagram and Facebook. *What was a fun thing you did during the NO SPORT time? I think of my favourite things I did was the blogs on Instagram on farm life. This for me was a huge success because it got lots of positive feedback and people loved me showing the things I do on the farm. *What did you learn about yourself these past six months? I learnt to be careful with making the right decisions. With more time to myself, it made me reflect on things in the future. *How do you feel about being back at training? Love being back involved with club at trainings and training as a group again. I look forward to future basketball competitions. Check out James with his entry for our Crazy Photo competition we held over the COVID lockdown - He was Farmer James! See more

21.01.2022 Calling all SOSNB athletes - lets get behind this great initiative!

20.01.2022 Please see below a message from our Chairman - Rex Langthorne in regard to SOSNBs transition back to training. Dear Athletes, Families and Carers I hope that you have kept safe, well and active over the past months during this challenging time with the COVID-19.... You may have seen the recent communication via Special Olympics Australia Facebook and Instagram pages, that they have given approval for clubs to resume a staged return to sporting training from Saturday 27 June 2020. SO Sport training and club activities must be held with the NSW State guidelines and along with venues being able to comply with the required hygiene measures and cleaning protocols. We are now talking with all the venues, SOSNB coaches and sports coordinators to put a action plan into place and will be back in contact soon in regard to when sports can expect to resume training. As you can imagine there are a lot of hurdles with the maximum of 10 people for indoor venues and other compliance requirements. Very exciting to be looking close to be back at training! Also please dont forget to enter our Wacky Photo competition by 14 June. Kind regards Rex Langthorne AM Chairman If there are any questions in regard to starting back to training, or photo competition, please feel free to contact Andrea Werner on [email protected] or on 0408 870 899
