07.01.2022 Haines Hunter 580 SLF! In exactly 12 months to the day this 1985 Haines has been fully restored. It came from a barn in Cessnock where it hadn't been used in ye...ars. The boat was advertised on Boat sales, and after a big think ......as my thought were is it worth doing?? Hmm. I fished out of one of these amazing boats years ago with a mate Gordon Dunlop and have dreamt of owning one for years after owning 4 x 445f's. The 580 is an amazing hull for offshore Game fishing and out to the continental shelf to chase large tuna and Marlin. I decided to go and take a closer look. When I first saw the old girl she looked a little on the tired side as the red gelcoat was faded and tired and very out dated. It was all in original condition which was a huge plus!! After a thorough 2 hour inspection I could not find any wood rot in the transom stringers or floor! Unbelievable No cracks or fracture in the underside hull! Yep this ones a keeper So I decided to buy it and go all out. Have loved every minute of restoring this now beautiful boat! See more

07.01.2022 Another Grand Banks 36 gets Re Decked. Complete removal of the 25yo teak deck on this old girl built in 1985. One of my favourite boats with classic lines! What a transformation as it has brought new life to this classic old boat. More pics to come once I fit the new teak swim deck

02.01.2022 Going through some old photos and I came across these. A 3rd year apprentice and only 19 years old, my very 1st Fiberglass boat! A 19 ft Caribbean Katalina. It belonged to a man down the road who tried to replace the floor, but cut right through the bottom. So I bought it for a very little, with a plan after falling in love with American Center consoles. Was my 1st project and really liked the re build!

01.01.2022 It’s about to get very cold as winter is approaching us. Winter is a great time of year to have the teak deck on your boat restored or completely replaced. At specialised marine we use only the very best in materials. A grade quarter sawn teak, 9 or 12mm. The new teak is all epoxy glued down onto the well prepped gel coat deck. We weight and glue the planks as screws are no longer required. All the seams are primed and sealed and then filled with decking sika. Machine sanded to perfection and your new deck has that absolute wow factor that will completely set off the boat.
