19.01.2022 I translated this article from Norwegian language to English for you all. I thought it might be interesting. More photos and video in article: Norway Defense's... new tool: "Hero" breathes, has heart rate and bleeds Hero is not like other dogs. It is the Norwegian Defense's newest tool for training personnel in life-saving first aid on the soldiers' best friend. The coat is synthetic. The skin is silicone-based, the intestines are replaced with tubes, while the lungs and stomach are replaced with thick plastic bags. The dry liner and wet liner must share the space in favor of a 12-volt battery in the back of the dog. Despite artificial building blocks, Hero has very similar anatomy as an adult Malinois, a Belgian sheepdog, of meat and blood. This also applies to the weight of around 30 kilos Hero was developed by US Kforce Government Solutions (KGS) on behalf of US authorities. - The dogs are officials on par with the human soldiers. Therefore, we must also train to save them. In live dogs, it is not possible to practice wound simulation and bleeding. We can do that here, says veterinarian Stueland. Designed by the Star Wars designers Since 2009, KGS has collaborated with the Lucasarts studio Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) to create the most realistic human dolls possible. ILM was responsible for the visual effects of the Star Wars films, as well as the first Jurassic Park and Men in Black movie. When Disney acquired Lucasarts in 2012, KGS purchased ILM's doll workshop. At about the same time, the development of the K9 Hero began. In other words, the dog doll is made by humans who previously designed the Star Wars dolls. - Doctors, instructors and veterinarians told us that first aid training was not realistic enough. We wanted to do something about that, says Carolyn Hollander, Vice President of KGS, to Teknisk Ukeblad. "The result was the world's first high-realistic dog doll," says Hollander. Together with Germany, the UK and NATO, Norway is the only K9 Hero owner in Europe. In the United States, it is used by other special forces and the Defense Health Center.

13.01.2022 In Silence, There is Power Max is home... - Max quietly breath his last breath in the early morning. Quietly, I whispered the Aaronic blessing in his ear.... It is not often that a man is given a gift from the Lord that words cannot express its significance. A gift that would experience life’s hurts, disappointments with you and no matter what still love you, not judge you or cast you away. This gift for me was a dog called Max. When I was angry, sad or worried he stayed steadfast patient with me. When I achieved some of the highest accomplishments and awards he didn't care he loved me the same with or without the win’s. When I would go into harms way he was there with his eyes on me waiting for the command to go do his job. He would wait to be sent and he would go with everything and did not care what threat was awaiting us he would go with a heart of a Lion with reckless abandonment. All he saw was someone wanting to hurt me or a member of my unit. When the day was over he was there quietly lying on his bed or somewhere within eye sight. He learned to read my every move, he recognized my facial expressions to know what my mood was or the seriousness of the situations. He learned how to read the tone of my voice and respond accordingly to the situations. In the end, we traveled countless miles, we have been through numerous prisons and jails, we have given demos in front of tens of thousands of people from all over the world, some of our K9 videos have millions of views.. If we had to sum it all up we were placed together for the purpose of the call to serve and in the quietness and to no big ceremony Max quietly went home just as he came into my life through circumstances in silence he was returned back to the Lord quietly.. For the gift I am forever blessed.... Joseph The End of a Special Chapter in our Journey has come to an end. Max has passed the baton to CSO K9 Mogan

04.01.2022 It's confirmed! V.C. to be recommended from Scomo. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has recommended the Queen posthumously award World War II hero Edward 'Teddy' ...Sheean a Victoria Cross. Tasmanian Sheean, an 18-year-old with less than two years at sea, was an Ordinary Seaman on the minesweeper HMAS Armidale when it came under heavy attack from Japanese aircraft off the coast of what is now Timor-Leste in 1942. Mr Morrison ordered an expert panel re-examine the case for Sheean receiving Australia's highest military honour after earlier attempts had failed to recommend he receive a Victoria Cross. Sheean is recorded as helping launch life rafts before returning to his anti-aircraft gun to fire at enemy aircraft that were strafing his shipmates as they floundered in the water, despite the order having been given to abandon ship. Witness accounts from the day have him firing as the ship sank. He was never seen again. Mr Morrison said he had accepted the findings of the expert panel. "That there is compelling new evidence in support of higher recognition for Sheean, that Sheean was done a substantial injustice in consideration of his actions in the original decision-making period in 1942 to 1943," he said. "And Sheean's courageous sacrifice of his life to save his shipmates makes him eligible for the Victoria Cross for Australia and the highest level of recognition should be accorded in this exceptional case." Former defence minister and Australian War Memorial director Brendan Nelson chaired the expert panel. The panel also included former solicitor-general David Bennett QC, former secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Peter Shergold, and senior curator and historian at the NSW Anzac Memorial, Brad Manera. 02.01.2022 AMBUSHED I was the gunner in the lead team, day two of patrol we were on foot making our way through a small village, paralleling water ways and crossing fiel...ds of chest high crops (corn). Not to our knowledge until to late, our platoon walked into an ambush. AK47 fire from the flank taking out the scouts legs, PKM (machine gun) from the front narrowly missing manoeuvring Australian commando's in front of me, darting left and right... WACK! thats me taking a machine gun burst front on. The rounds hit my weapon, spraying bullet fragments into my face.. knocking my 7.62 Maximi out of my hands, causing a stoppage. I was lying in the dust with minimal cover, being peppered with bullets from what seemed like every direction, blood pouring from somewhere Explosives were going off, radio chatter at high level. Shit was crazy! Stay in the fight scotty.. i said to myself. As i gathered my thoughts, knowing what i had to do next, I begun to control my BREATHING, attempting to slow my heart rate enough for my arms to work. To Maneuver back in line with my fellow team members ready to fight. And that was just the beginning..
