25.01.2022 It’s great to see one of our very own Special Olympic Athletes being recognised for their contribution to the Geelong Cats. As well as having an important role with the Cats, Sam is also an accomplished athlete with our Barwon Club in Geelong. Good luck to both teams in tomorrows Grand Final. There will be plenty of our athletes cheering on from Victoria for both Richmond and Geelong. Special Olympics Barwon Region

23.01.2022 Researchers from the University of Melbourne invite parents/guardians of children and young people with disability (under age 25) to take part in a research study. Parents will be eligible if their child: - has participated in gymnastics (including currently) in the last three years - has tried to participate in gymnastics but did not end up doing so in the last three years.... We are interested in: - How families of children with disability get involved in or find out about gymnastics - Factors that make it harder and easier to get involved in and/or continue participating in gymnastics Participating in this research involves filling out a 15-minute online survey. At the end of the survey there will also be given the option to choose whether they would like to express interest in participating in a 30-minute follow up interview via phone or video chat. Click here for more information and a link to the survey https://redcap.healthinformatics.unimelb.edu.au/surveys/ For more information please contact the responsible researcher Dr Rachel Toovey on [email protected]

IGA has been inclusion partners with S...pecial Olympics for 28 years and funds raised help ensure that everyone in the community can enjoy sports and physical activity. You’ll see Special Olympics posters in IGA stores during July. Whilst in-store, look for products displaying the IGA Community Chest logo.
