19.01.2022 Something a little different - Spotted Leporinus. Very cute fish that grow to a nice display size. Suit tropical tanks with larger species and also some American Cichlid tanks. Extremely hard to get a photo of as they are so quick.

18.01.2022 Maylandia estherae commonly referred to as Tangerine Zebras and Red Zebras. Tangerine being the more accurate name. An interesting fish in that both sexes can be blue or tangerine (male), and blue or orange (female). Very attractive fish and fascinating genetics for those interested in fish breeding. Photo shows blue male and orange females. Now in stock.

18.01.2022 Caridina typus shrimp aka Australian Amano Shrimp. Perfect shrimp for planted tanks. Eat algae including hair algae. A very hardy shrimp that can be kept with small peaceful species of fish. Lids essential as they can climb out especially when introduced to a new tank environment. 18.01.2022 The massive anubius we uploaded photos of over the weekend has sold however we have a great selection of anubius still available. Anubius can be grown on rocks or driftwood. They have a very hard leaf structure that is less likely to be eaten by fish than bunch plants. They are hardy, long lived plants but are slow growing. They make great features plants in aquariums.

16.01.2022 Easily the most spectacular anubius feature plant I've seen! Photo does not do it justice at all - will take some better shots tomorrow. Suffice to say the cream coloured thing behind it is a standard size door - yep it's that big! Fills an 18" deep tank perfectly. Would be fantastic as a centre feature for a tank 3 foot or bigger. It works in the 3 foot x 18" x18" it's currently in but really would be best suited to a 4 foot+. It's an absolutely beautiful display piece. We have a great selection of smaller anubius as well. 16.01.2022 Mudskippers - very quirky fish that get very tame and are highly amusing to watch. These guys are best kept in a species tank. They require brackish-estuarine conditions. They spend much of their time out of water. We use dead coral pieces as it helps buffer the water as well as provide a refuge. They love their food and will quickly become obese if overfed! Really cool little fish!

14.01.2022 Borleyi Kadango in stock in both juveniles and large males. A very attractive fish! Photo shows a male around 13.0cm which is not yet fully coloured. Females have a silver body with bright orange fins.

14.01.2022 Managed to get a fairly decent photo of this beautiful breeder male 'Giant' Blue Eye today. Males of this variant can reach 8.0cm making them by far the largest of the species. Male in the photo is approximately 6.5cm. Stunning fish. When displaying the dorsal and anal fins are fully splayed. Due to their rapid movement it's very hard to get a photograph. We have some juveniles currently available. They require good water movement in the tank and a temperature under 22 degrees. They don't do well in tropical temps.

01.01.2022 We have super limited numbers of Tinanti Cichlids available. These are absolutely superb quality fish. A very unusual Cichlid, they in many ways resemble a Goby. Their natural habitat is rapids in the Congo and they have modified swim bladders to enable them to maintain position in the water. A very streamlined body and their habit of 'perching' is very similar to many native Gobies and Blennies. Fascinating fish and well worth breeding.
