12.01.2022 Happy Wednesday Without Words! Wednesday 5th September marks our national Aphasia awareness day - Wednesday Without Words. Our aim this year is to raise aware...ness in the community of what Aphasia is and importantly, what it is not. Aphasia is an impairment in language due to a neurological event (such as stroke). Aphasia can affect a persons ability to speak, understand, read, write and use numbers. Aphasia is not a loss of intelligence. Meet Shannon who has kindly provided us with an insight into what Aphasia its affect on a persons life. Could YOU go a Wednesday (or even an hour) without words? Please share this video far and wide to help us to raise awareness of Aphasia. #aphasia #aphasiaawareness #wednesdaywithoutwords
