16.01.2022 Parents have the privileged space to influence their child’s speech and language development. No fancy degree, no sun-lit office, no expensive office clothing necessary for this job description. Everyday living experiences and a happy, cheerful voice is all it takes When you Talk about where things are, your child learns about space and how things go together. He learns to follow directions and look at details. Example when in the kitchen: Carrots on the table. Pota...toes on table Broccoli in pot Talk about what you both see, your child learns to put words to the objects around him, increase his vocabulary and world experience. Example: rain, rain on window

15.01.2022 Dear Speech-Language Clinicians, As a second year PhD candidate I am conducting a study that is exploring influencing factors and outcomes of speech pathology services for children 16 years of age and under delivered through telepractice from a client family and speech-language clinicians perspective. This is an online survey for speech and language pathologists that will help provide answers to many questions that have arisen in the literature on telepractice over the past... 8 years. You are invited to participate in this survey on the dimensions of speech pathology services with children < 16 years via telepractice if you: are fluent in English are a professionally qualified speech pathologist (speech-language pathologist/speech-language clinician/speech therapist) do not have experience with telepractice but are familiar with speech and language services for children through telepractice (telehealth/e-health) OR have conducted at least 1 speech and language therapy session with a child under 16 years of age via telepractice (telehealth/e-health) The survey would take 15 minutes for those who are familiar with telepractice without experience and about 25 minutes for those with telepractice experience. Because the survey is anonymous, you will not be able to log in and log out of the survey and will need to complete it in one sitting. You may access the Participant Information Statement and the online survey through the following link: https://redcap.sydney.edu.au/surveys/?s=RNLCF9A3L4 Thank you. Regards, Melissa See more

06.01.2022 PEEK-A-BOO! If you have a 6-12 month old do play this game with her/him! It helps his/her brain grow! The child learns that something is there even if he cannot see it, he learns to wait and he learns to expect a response.

02.01.2022 Do you remember nursery rhymes? Incy Wincey Spider, climbed up the water spout, down came the raindrops and washed the spider out, out came the sun (shine) and dried up all the rain and Incy Wincy Spider climber up the spout again! Sing songs to your child, he/she learns to listen, to remember, to enjoy music. I will never forget this distorted version of Yankee Doodle; so much so it is a lot of effort to remember the original; Yankee Doodle went to London,... in a Mini Minor, he put a tiger in his hat and landed up in China!
