21.01.2022 FREE Alphabetic code chart To all our new followers - here is our FREE downloadable alphabetic code chart. There are two versions - UK and USA as we pronounce ...words slightly differently. What is this chart for? It will help you see how the sounds of the English language are spelled. Use it to check that you know the different spellings. Your child can use it to check they have used the incorrect alternative when spelling e.g. when they spell the word 'night' like this; 'nite' you can show them that the correct spelling is 'igh'. Teaching kids to understand the alphabetic code is based on the science of reading. Please share! https://www.phonicbooks.co.uk//free-tea/phonic-code-table/

06.01.2022 Teaching kids to map words enables them to self-teach "‘Self-teaching’ is an essential ingredient on the road to independent reading. Once they master the spel...ling-to-sound correspondences, children can on their own, decipher the pronunciation of a novel string and associate it with a familiar meaning. With self-teaching, the neuronal links from the letter strings to sound and meaning can be progressively automatized without any further formal instruction.
