23.01.2022 Australian Nationals 2020 is scheduled for October in Adelaide suburb of Woodville. At this stage, there is still a high degree of uncertainty and it is not clear if the competition is able to proceed. The organisers have committed to making a determination before the August registration opening date if the competition is viable, and if it is able to proceed, what alterations are required. Some of the factors that will inform this decision are:... - SA Government restrictions about gathering size and indoor density. Currently it is 2sqm per person, this would still require us to make a sizable reduction to the number of competitors allowed to compete. - WCA Competition Safety Policy. These guidelines will require us to make alterations to the schedule and restrict the number of events that are possible. - Interstate travel restrictions. We can only have a national championship if borders are open and quarantine restrictions have been lifted from all states. IF the championship is able to proceed the qualification requirements will be altered and we will welcome first time competitors in select events. Stay safe and keep cubing!

18.01.2022 Congratulations to Tom Noble , winner of the AusNats 2020 logo design competition. Here are all the entries we received, as you can see the bar was set extremely high and it was a VERY difficult decision for the committee. We are still hopeful that Nationals will go ahead in Adelaide this October and we will get to use Tom's wonderful logo.
17.01.2022 Today's events at Australia Online 2020 are Round 1 2x2x2 Cube and Megaminx and Round 2 for Skewb, streamed live at 4pm AEST. https://docs.google.com//1QrWWRQp0ec0SjAtcBgRexlKgnO/edit
16.01.2022 Some sad news and some happy news.... Speedcubing Australia has made the difficult decision to cancel Australian Nationals 2020. The challenges of Covid-19, including border closures and social distancing requirements mean that it is simply not possible to hold Australian Nationals in Adelaide this year. HOWEVER, we have already booked in AusNats 2021 on the Gold Coast in September next year! This promises to be a mammoth national championship in a fantastic venue with a competitor limit of 700. We hope to see you all there next September! https://www.worldcubeassociation.org//AustralianNationals2

15.01.2022 Speedcubing Australia is incredibly sad to announce that we have cancelled the 2021 East Coast Road-trip competitions. The Covid restrictions have meant there is now only a very small chance that these competitions would be possible. We are monitoring the situation closely and we are hoping to have competitions up and running on the east coast in early 2021.
