19.01.2022 Working Mama X Learning@Home . This is my reality as I support the learning of my youngest son. For my youngest son, it is hands on the whole time, guiding, nurturing and helping him work through his class materials. . Standing in my office doorway is another son asking for help with his learning.... . Thankfully, my eldest is quite independent and very well supported by his school. . So far this morning, I’ve drafted an email. That’s it... one email draft. . It’s hard not to feel unproductive, to feel frustrated by a lack of progress and inadequate because I’m not ‘hustling’ like everyone else. But I breathe and do my best to let go of my usually high expectations. To accept that this is not a ‘normal’ time so hold in myself to my normal expectations will not serve me. I remind myself that this phase will pass. . Life is far from perfect, but we are all healthy, happy and more connected as a family. So, in the craziness of life as we know it right now - we’re actually doing very well! . If you are challenged by this current time, particularly juggling work, parenting and home learning; you are far from alone. 14.01.2022 Sydney-bound... For years I have felt resistance to travelling for work so I can always be available to my family. While it has felt right and has worked well around my husband’s constant work travel it is time for me to begin to stretch my wings and venture outside my comfort zone. This year is a year of growth, branching out and charting new territories in my business. It’s exciting, and more than a little anxiety-inducing, as I let go of what is safe and comfortable a...nd step more into the discomfort of the not-so-known. To follow my dreams and kick my own goals means being willing to work away from home and leave hubby at the helm (of which he is perfectly capable), it’s just me that needs to let go.
