22.01.2022 Speedway Sedans Queensland is proud to announce that for the season 2020/2021 we will be covering the cost for affiliated tracks in Queensland to take advantage of using the COVID-19 compliant EVA Check-In app for entry to tracks. This is a simple way to be compliant on entry to the venue - the data is encrypted and deleted after the required 56 days. The EVA Check-In app is being used by many sporting organisations and venues - eg Soccer, Athletics, Netball, League, etc - i...f you already have the app downloaded then it will be even simpler to entry the venue. In addition to a general f...reshen up, the rule changes relate to the introduction of new safety standards from the FIA and Snell Foundation. * New FIA safety standards, FIA 8856-2018 * New Snell SA2020 helmet standard from 1 October * Phasing out of Snell SA2010 standard from 1 July 2021, in accordance with Snell Foundation guidelines Safety Liz advises, These new standards are in addition to the existing standards so there is no immediate change necessary for any competitors. However, if you have a Snell SA2010 helmet, theres only eight months of life left before the scheduled phase out on 1 July 2021. 17.01.2022 JUSTIN WEIR IS THE NATIONAL 4’s QLD CHAMPION Justin Weir survived a arduous forty lap main event to claim the 2020/2021 SSA National 4’s QLD State Title last n...ight at the Fraser Shores Maryborough Speedway. Just nine cars greeted the chequered flag as hot and windy conditions made track preparation extremely challenging. Clinton Lawrence unfortunately ended his race upside on the opening lap with Ryan Schultz, Russell Booth and Jim Cowley all going no further. Defending champion Tim Weir looked set to claim his fourth State Title in a row in the class before his race ended with a flat tyre on lap twenty two. We will be closely monitoring directives from the Queensland Government, Queensland Health, the Queensland Chief Medical Officer as well as all other Australian States & Territories concerning all regulations in place for the current COVID Pandemic. As you all know all over Australia the situation concerning COVID is ever changing and the situation can change overnight. With this in mind if we have to cancel/postpone the KINGS ROYAL in its current format we have other options available. Any necessary changes will be made to adhere to the relevant COVID regulations & advice. We also have in place if this happens a 2 night race format for the same weekend if changes are needed. 08.01.2022 Speedway Sedans NSW have been working behind the scenes with Sapphire Speedway & National Capital Motorsports Club to piece together a great opportunity to show...case SSA Junior Sedans in the southern part of NSW. This January we will be hosting not 1 but 2 massive title events for the future stars of our great sport! 9th January 2021 we will kick things off at Sapphire Speedway, Bega for the running of the SSA Junior Sedan NSW State Title where we will crown our 2020/21 Champion. Our team will then head to Canberra on the 16th January 2021 to assist National Capital Motorsports Club in hosting the 2020/21 SSA Junior Sedan ACT State Title. SSA Junior Drivers will be able to enter both of these events with a $0 nomination fee to assist in what we are positive will be a week not to miss!! Nomination forms for these events will be available in the coming week with all the information you will need to be part of showcasing SSA Junior Sedans at their best.

06.01.2022 R.I.P. Charlie Brookes - condolences to the Brookes and Boss families from the speedway family on the passing of Charlie. Father-in-law and grandfather to well known Jason and Brodie Boss. Written by the family R.I.P.- Cheeky Charlie Brookes, with great sadness we mourn the loss of another Queensland speedway legend. Charlie was one of the original QSCA Super Street champions who won numerous Northern Zone titles, a Southern Zone title and many top 3 podiums plus the 1991 Qu...eensland Super Street title at Collinsville Speedway. The Brookes and Boss family plus the extended families thank you for your thoughts and kind words during this difficult time. Details of the funeral will be shared once arranged.

04.01.2022 South Burnett Speedway Club in consultation with Queensland Health & meeting with local Government Authorities have made the very tough decision to CANCEL the u...pcoming ROYAL STAMPEDE to be held on the 22nd to 24th of January 2021. The VERY tough decision was based on the safety of our community and the wider speedway family. Remember this is not only a race meeting anymore but a holiday destination. The South Burnett Speedway Club sincerely apologies for the inconvenience in this decision but at this time we cannot guarantee the safety of our competitors, spectators & officials. BUT some good news is the club is now looking into running a big event over the 2021 Easter Long Weekend!! Watch this Space!!

Defending champion Tim Weir aboard his Ford Sierra will be looking to win his fourth State Title in a row in the class and has started the new season in his usual form. The Sunshine Coast 37 of Rodney Midolo is the last driver to win the title that wasn’t from the Weir family having tasted success in 2015, the previous time Maryborough held the event. 02.01.2022 Speedway Sedans NSW in conjunction with Gilgandra management have made the decision to postpone the 2020/21 SSA Street Stock NSW Title, scheduled for 21st Novem...ber 2020. Due to the current border restrictions with Victoria and NSW spectator restrictions of 500 people this title is just not viable at this time. We have made the decision to reallocate this title to a new date of 27th February 2021 at Gilgandra in the hopes that all restrictions will be eased. Those who have nominated for this event on the 21st November can contact the state to discuss your options at the email address provided on the form. We thank you for your support. A new form will be released shortly!!

02.01.2022 We would like to say a big thank you to the team of volunteers who came out to the venue yesterday. The old barbed wire fence along the driveway has been removed, trees have been trimmed and the grass is mowed. Thanks to all of our volunteers, the grounds are starting to look fantastic!
