19.01.2022 The "2020 Speewah to the Hat Charity Walk for a Cause" is Run and Done for another year! We had 107 Walkers tackle the event this year and managed to raise an awesome $4470 for 3 very deserving recipients Thanks to everyone who sent us submissions for worthy recipients of the money raised and they are as follows:... I say this with a very heavy heart and much love but our first recipient is a very Loving Mother who lost her 12 year old Daughter (names withheld out of respect) to complications from a severe asthma attack . $2000.00 has made its way to them to assist in this extremely tragic time for this family xx. Our second recipient is Charlotte, A young 13 year old girl who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer) last year. Charlotte and her Mother Kushla have selflessly started their own foundation "Stay in the Fight" to assist other young girls with care packs who find themselves in the same position. We were able to donate $1500.00 to this awesome family which in turn will help 10 more young girls who get diagnosed. Well done guys. And lastly but certainly not least we were able to give $970.00 to B.A.C.A (Bikers Against Child Abuse) Tablelands Chapter who assist and protect young children in abusive situations. "Bat" and "Mouse"are two Speewah locals who donate a hell of a lot of their time and resources to protect the children. Well done men to you and everyone involved your Chapter Thanks to all of our sponsors for getting on board and also to Rose and the Crew for their outstanding efforts and donations from the Red Beret . Also thanks to Theresa and everyone else who assisted on the day including John from "Johns Kuranda Bus". We had nearly $2000.00 worth of prizes donated to raffle off on the day . Hope everyone had a great day and we will do it all again next year...... I would love to see everyone elses photos too
