25.01.2022 What’s your favourite weed??? #fundthefarmgeelong #spellgardenau #spellgardentherapyfarm #ecotherapyinpractice #wyldworkprojects

25.01.2022 My latest plant order arrived speedily and safely Thank you Mudbrick Cottage Herb Farm. Now enjoying a seaweed soak.

24.01.2022 I’m developing a thing for night time gardening - I think it might be because my days are all tied up with business planning at the moment. More plants potted up and a pile more seed sown Lots of new and exciting herbs in these pots. We now grow over 100 different varieties of herbs. Fruit, veg, berries, nuts and bush foods is a whole other list again. Sad we can’t take the Apple trees with us in the big move it’s going to be amazing, starting with a completely blank canvas.

24.01.2022 In the middle of moving and we get this lovely surprise.

20.01.2022 I wonder why they call it Golden Marjoram?

20.01.2022 It is so important to understand just how much our beloved wildlife needs us more than ever. Nayook (Cockatoo) is travelling hundreds of kilometres away from th...eir normal route right now seeking food as land clearing and the bushfires have taken away homes and food they have used over the generations for thousands of years Sadly The Black Glossy Cockatoo is now nationally critically endangered a.. TURRUM (she-oak) seed is Nayooks favourite food. WAYETUCK ( Black She-oak) it’s main staple. I anticipate it’s only going to get worse for them so if you have room plant some in your garden. Just as the magical bird Nayook needs a partner in life so do these magnificent trees. Turrums will grow between 8-12m so plant carefully. They are such a gift to the garden from the pollen you will find at the tips of their branches to the nodules of their roots which provide homes and shelter for bugs and lizards. They are native to the East Coast of Australia and are an easy hardy plant to grow so don’t be frightened to explore the idea. 17.01.2022 With Covid restrictions slowing being wound back, the time is ripe for moving this project forward.

17.01.2022 Along the front of the property is a beautiful Wisteria. It had been cut right back just before we moved here. My partner, before he passed away, would stand here having a smoke and weave the branches together. After he passed I took great comfort in seeing those weavings and when we found out we would be leaving here i was devastated to leave them behind. While it was dormant I cut off the main ones and, out of curiosity, I stuck them in a bucket of water. Spring is here and it would appear I have new Wisteria plants to take with me to our new home
