18.01.2022 Hi everyone from Amazing Albany. It’s tough times for all and down here in the Great Southern we are doing our part in fight against the Virus. We remain open for business but at a reduced level keeping our two largest self contained rooms operating. If you are staying with us in Suite 1 or Suite 4 you are isolated from other guests and staff. Our excellent cleaning has been doubled down to ensure all aspects and surfaces in our Suites are safe. If you are planning to visit the regions please call your preferred accommodation directly and keep your hard earned dollars in WA. Booking through online agents sends 15% or more to the US or Europe. This means with 10% GST plus commissions, 25% of your payment leaves WA. I.e on a $150 per night booking $37.50 leaves WA.

12.01.2022 Only 72 days remain to see the Field of Lights in Albany. Over 100,000 people have seen this amazing display. Plan your next visit to Amazing Albany to see world acclaimed artist Bruce Munro’s latest exhibition. Field of Light: Avenue of Honour will commence on October 4th 2018 to Anzac Day 2019. 16,000 glass spheres will glow white, yellow and gold light illuminating the Avenue of Honour on Mount Clarence. The exhibition will symbolise the sacrifice,courage and honour of the 41,000 Anzacs who departed Albany for WW1 and the Armistice that followed in 1918. Commissioned by non profit cultural organisation FORM this exhibition is a one off not to be missed opportunity for all Australians and New Zealanders.

When you plan your travel please call your chosen accommodation provider direct rather than booking through an online agency. Keep your money in Australia and support local small business who in turn will look after you on price and service. Many regional businesses have had zero income for many weeks so your business is of great value.

08.01.2022 The last day of winter in Albany saw the departure of HMAS Farncomb through King George Sound following the United States Navy Submariners Memorial Service. The service is an annual event commemorating the service of USN submarines based in Albany during 1942. A number of these boats were lost in combat and a memorial is located adjacent to the National Anzac Centre in Albany.
