24.01.2022 Any of our clients that have insurance will know that premiums have been increasing and we do all we can to help you manage this while keeping your cover. Today we heard that one provider is increasing their premiums by 72.5% Ouch!... This increase applies to a specific type of cover with specific benefits, at 1 provider so alternatives do exist that are not in this basket. Either way, if you would like a review of what you have, what to avoid and ways you can be insured that are cost effective then please get in touch.

24.01.2022 The average lifetime cost of cancer for individuals aged 15-64 is $126,280 (many cost less than this but some cost more) Is that income protection policy that you have through your Super really enough to support you and your family if the worst was to happen? You wait 30 - 90 days for the wait period, you get 75% of your salary (assuming you've updated your sum insured along the way) and then you pay tax on the benefit for the short time you're off of work. That might help pa...y some of the bills or the mortgage but certainly won't be enough to pay for any additional medical bills, in fact it will most likely drive you back to worker sooner than is ideal. Lets talk Trauma / Critical Illness Cover and ensure you're properly covered for things like cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, dementia, epilepsy, parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, burns, blindness, loss of hearing, loss of speech, loss of limbs, kidney failure, liver disease, coma, HIV, meningococcal and much more. You can get covered for as little as $18.33 a month so lets chat and discuss your individual needs. Ryan 0450 900 436

22.01.2022 Do you have a REST Super account? Did you know they increased there admin fee by 15% late last year. As an Industry Super Fund they are supposedly run only to benefit members, yet their CEO gets paid $847,000 a year and they are now charging members some $20 million dollars more after increasing their admin fees.

22.01.2022 My last appointment for 2020 and I've just worked out I can save / earn this prospective client $298,000 over the next 20 years! $148,000 is extra Centrelink he may be entitled to and $150,000 in tax savings. None of those savings are based on better investment returns (none)... Who says financial advice isn't worth it.

21.01.2022 Scenario: Client is 70 years old. Owns her own home and an investment property that her disabled son lives in rent free. Owns shares and managed funds.... Doesn't qualify for the age pension as her assets are too. Outcome: We structure her assets in such a way that she provides for her disabled son in a tax effective manner, avoiding capital gains tax and stamp duty while now qualifying for the age pension (worth $24,500 a year) #financialadvice #shouldhaveseenmefiveyearsago #dontputitoff #somanywayswecanhelp #advicenotproducts

18.01.2022 Get your Financial Year off to a great start by booking an appointment and putting a plan in place for you and your family.

18.01.2022 12 months ago I met some new clients who said "we pay too much tax, can you help?" * We looked at an income protection policy (tax deductible)... * We contributed to Super (tax deductible) * We made a spouse contribution (tax offset available) * We made a personal contribution without claiming a tax deduction (for co-contribution) and now I get to enjoy meeting with this couple every year and telling them how much tax we've saved and going through the overall benefits of those transactions.

17.01.2022 Recent amendments to the law will give more Australians the opportunity to choose their own superannuation fund - preventing them from being locked into a specific super fund. #superannuation

09.01.2022 The end of Dollarmites is nigh.

08.01.2022 What is considered a 'comfortable retirement' and how much money should I have to achieve it? The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia consider an income of $43,687 (single) and $61,909 (couple) to be the magical number required for a comfortable retirement. In order to achieve this, they estimate you need a Super Balance of $545,000 (single) or $640,000 (couple) at age 67... Are you on track? Well, below are the figures you should aim to have in Super at various ages to achieve the abovementioned figures (some assumptions have been made about costs, earnings, income, tax rates and life expectancy) 30 = $61,000 35 = $102,000 40 = $154,000 45 = $207,000 50 = $271,000 55 = $345,000 60 = $430,000 65 = $523,000 If you would like a review of your Super Fund, would like advice about how you can contribute extra into Super tax effectively or what your Super should be invested in, call me on 0450 900 436 to book an obligation free appointment

08.01.2022 Don't get confused between the stock market and the economy - they are not the same thing. With a recession all but confirmed today it does not mean that shares will necessarily fall (as evidenced by the 1.8% increase on our market today) Our stock market is primarily being driven by 4 bank and 3 resource company share prices (they make up 28% of the All Ordinaries Index), the US share market, international stimulus packages and world commodity prices.
