22.01.2022 Introducing a new product on our shelves, ‘Wild Rice’. We have been able to source quality organic wild rice for our customers. Also based on our research we have created two wild rice blends of brown basmati rice and brown medium grain rice. At a wild hot price of $4.99 for 250 gm of Wild Rice we are beating the market price by almost half. ‘Wild Rice’ as compared to normal Rice is higher in protein and fibre along with folate, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, Vitamin B6 and niacin. Some studies have also shown that the antioxidant activity in wild rice is 30 times greater than that of white-rice. There are also suggestions from some research that it is effective in lowering cholesterol and other lipid measures.

20.01.2022 $120 donated to Foodbank Victoria by our store for the month of August. We associated with foodbank in august to be part of our initiative #DonateYourInvoice. This initiative is only possible through our customers cooperation. For every invoice that is over $20 'Spicelicious' donates 5% and for invoices over $50 we donate 10%. Every $ donated goes into providing food items for over 1000's of families that depend on foodbank for their food needs. Dalai Lama once said "If you t...hink you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito". We dont think we are too small, we know we are making a difference. 17.01.2022 Hope you had a great Easter holiday. In autumn we all feel like having comfort food but not as heavy as winter ones. For cooking purposes there are three spices that help in Autumn to warm up the body. Ginger, Cinnamon and Cloves are used in various forms in savoury and sweet dishes. Ginger is good to have in tea, its also serves as a immunity booster to fight against throat infections. Cloves are used as flavour enhancer in many savoury dishes. 08.01.2022 Winter is not in full swing as yet but the season is right to have some Gajar (carrot) Halwa. A very simple recipe is 1. Rinse 1 kilo of carrot. 2. Peel and then grate it. 3. In a Kadai on a high heat, put some ghee (100 gm) and cardamom powder or for a minute or two 4. Add the grated carrots along with almonds and pistachios (100 gm)... 5. Add milk with the 2:1 ratio, that is for each kilo of Carrot add 2 litre milk. 6. Let it simmer on low heat and keep stirring the mix. Aim is to evaporate milk. 6. Add sugar, be generous. (Gajar halwa needs to be sweet). 7. Once the mixture is hard to stir then turn the heat off. Your Gajar Halwa is ready.
