He was named a Top 50 #YGOW winemaker in 2019, and he's in the mix for the 2020 Awards... Q. Which of your wines best defines what you’re about? A. My Pinot Noir. It’s ever evolving. I try a few new things every year. Whether it’s a different clone (or a few), different vineyards, differing levels of whole bunches or different fermentation techniques, I’m always experim...enting with the variety and trying to improve my wine each vintage. Q. If you could plant any grape variety anywhere, what would it be and where? A. That’s any easy one. Nerello Mascalese in the Adelaide Hills. Q. What's bringing you a lot of joy in wine right now? A. The number of small producers around the country consistently making amazing wine. Q. What’s the soundtrack in the winery? A. Spotify playlist ‘The Sound of Australian Alternative Rock’ Q. What's your go-to dish? A. Duck ragu. Easy to scale for an almost infinite number of people, easy to prep in the slow (or pressure) cooker and I get to cook with my wine. I’ve got to the point I can whip one up pretty quickly when needed and it always goes down a treat. Q. What's your favourite Wineslinger? A. @stanleybridgetavern, Verdun (Adelaide Hills). With two young children and one on the way, my life at the moment is hectic. I’m all about supporting somewhere local and family friendly so that we can all relax and enjoy a glass or two. The Stanley Bridge ticks all those boxes as well as having an amazingly curated cellar. #AdelaideHills
