22.01.2022 With the announcements made regarding the extension of Stage 4 restrictions, we will be continuing to operate for urgent repairs and maintenance to your vehicle, during the first and second steps in the ‘roadmap to recovery’. Under the Second Step, it is noted that more workplaces will be permitted in following stages, and we will continue to monitor and communicate any further updates. Under the current guidance, a logbook service or scheduled maintenance is not permitted ...as a standalone service, but where urgent vehicle repairs are being undertaken, routine maintenance and servicing can also be completed at the same time to keep the vehicle roadworthy. Give us a call if you feel your vehicle has an urgent problem, such as metal to metal brakes, and is unsafe to drive. !

As a VACC accredited workshop, we can confirm as per advice given from the VACC, we are permitted to remain open for on-site work during the stage 4 restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne. It is VACC’s opinion that the conditions allow for the , .... This assessment is based on an allowance in the conditions permitting the provision of services that maintain the health and safety of Victorians, at home or at work. It is VACC’s view that the proper servicing of vehicles is crucial to the safety and operability of a motor vehicle which in turn provides the required safety for Victorians traveling to work or in their local communities. All work undertaken will adhere to COVID safe obligations. . We are able to offer an end to end touchless transaction process where invoices can be paid over the phone and instructions for collection of keys given upon arrival. For our customers who are outside our 5km radius, we will be offering a pickup and drop off service. Please advise when booking if this applies to you. We are committed to stopping the spread of COVID-19 and are fully supportive of the government’s actions, hence having already taken steps to adopt strict health and hygiene practices and social distancing requirements during stage 3 restrictions. 02.01.2022 - As further information comes to hand, we have now been given urgent clarification on advice received from VACC. After meeting with the government, VACC now advises the following: We can confirm that only services covering essential and critical 'Vehicle repair, servicing and maintenance' are permitted to open for on-site work with a COVID Safe Plan in place. This does not include routine servicing, however, would include urgent ...recalls. We are not able to offer a contactless pick up and drop off service for customers outside our 5km radius, as previously advised. As Spiers Automotive Repairs is a licensed roadworthy tester, we have also been given the following advice from VicRoads. As an approved provider to VicRoads (defined as an ancillary service within the Stage 4 Industry Restrictions framework) your business is permitted to remain open to continue to offer inspection services.
