16.01.2022 What comes to mind when you think about ‘gratitude’? Tag a friend to spread the word! The year 2020 has certainly thrown us all a few curve balls, but today let’s be grateful for the positives we can take away from these unprecedented times. The SpinChat team has certainly had to adapt in their ways too. For many of us, when we suffered our spinal cord injury, we felt then, that we lost our freedom. Refocusing was a huge part of recovery. Think about life as you knew it,... and suddenly it has been taken away who would have thought? COVID 19 should give us a new sense of appreciation and gratitude for a new perspective on the ‘life’ that we often took for granted. Today, on World Gratitude Day lets be grateful to our teachers, health care workers, family and friends. Gratefulness can help us overcome this crisis.

16.01.2022 "This was an amazing experience... Every secondary student should have the opportunity to experience one." The school year is only young and SpinChat is already having a huge impact on teachers and students. Have you been lucky enough to experience a presentation yet?

16.01.2022 Young people between the ages of 15 24 years live with an increased risk of sustaining a spinal cord injury. Each year, around 400 new cases of spinal cord injury are recorded across Australia; that’s around one case every day. Currently, there is no cure for spinal cord injury, only prevention. Learn more about how our SpinChat speakers are helping to prevent young people in Victoria from sustaining a life changing spinal cord injury.... Get involved by booking a SpinChat session for your school today at https://www.spinchat.org.au/book-a-spinchat-speaker-session/

15.01.2022 2018 has gotten off to a flying start, with our team covering all corners of the state this week. Earlier in the week Robbie was out at Goroke P-12 College, speaking to their entire senior school about his experience with spinal cord injury.

11.01.2022 Recently our speaker Anthony ticked another item off his bucket list - skiing. This is no small feat for Anthony, given that he has no movement below his neck. No challenge is too big or too small for him and with the assistance of Disabled Wintersport Australia, he was able to have the experience of a lifetime.

05.01.2022 Get out on your bike this school holidays! When was the last time you rode your bike? A great way to get some fresh air and stay active is taking a bike ride.... Many of you may be studying for exams. Remember, its important to keep your mind and body mentally fit during these stressful times. Physical exercise delivers oxygen to the brain which can help with memory and keeping focused. Did you know at SpinChat we are all about promoting safety? Jump over to see what we are about: http://ow.ly/DaRL50BF2ML If you weren’t aware, there are some fantastic trails around Melbourne and the suburbs, check out the link below. http://ow.ly/4E3u50BF2MM
